Recently, I found myself puzzled about how to participate in this contest. But then, something happened that gave me a perfect idea.

A few days ago, our HOD teacher became upset with our class because we didn't prepare well for a test. He was disappointed and jokingly said that he wouldn’t teach us anymore because we weren’t taking his lessons seriously. Although we knew he was joking, we still felt bad, especially when he didn’t show up for his lecture the next day.

The following day, my friends and I decided that we needed to apologize to him, but we wanted to do it in a special way. We brainstormed and came up with the idea of making a handmade card and giving him some chocolates since we knew he liked both.

So, we went home and gathered whatever materials we had. The next day, as soon as we arrived at college, we got to work on the card. I’ll share the details of how we made it.

The Making of the Card

Since we didn't have much time, we used materials that were readily available at home. I had some sheets at home, and my friend had some computer sheets.

We also used a pair of scissors, a ballpoint pen, and glue ,these were the only things we had, but we were determined to make the card look good.

We chose a purple color because it looked nice to us, and we used it as the background. Then, I decided to make a small flower. I cut a square piece of computer sheet, folded it, and made some petals at the corners.

When I cut it, it turned out in the shape of a flower. I glued this flower to the card and added a small bead in the center that I found at home.

For the stem, I wasn’t able to make it properly, so my friend helped me. She used a green color to draw the stem and attached it to the flower. We then picked a light purple sheet to write our apology letter on and pasted it onto the card.

We weren't sure how to write the apology letter, so we searched for some quotes online that fit our situation. We found a suitable quote, but since my friend’s handwriting wasn’t the best, we asked a classmate with better handwriting to write it for us. After that, I shaded around the flower with a purple pen to give it a nice touch.

Once the card was ready, we waited for our teacher’s next lecture. As soon as he entered the classroom, we gave him the card and the chocolates.

He accepted our apology with a smile, and we were so relieved. He forgave us and even thanked us for the gesture. He then proceeded to teach us a new topic.

We were all very happy, especially since this was the first time we had made our teacher upset. We used to follow all his instructions, but we found that test very difficult, which is why we didn’t prepare well.

We promised him that we would complete all future tests and assignments and never give him a reason to be upset with us again.

This experience taught me that sometimes, a sincere apology and a little creativity can go a long way in mending relationships. I’m glad we took the time to make something with our own hands to show our teacher that we were truly sorry. The happiness on his face made all our efforts worthwhile🤍.
