Hey lovelies! 🌸 I'm beyond excited to take you on a journey through my digital art world today. As a 23-year-old psychology student from the Philippines, drawing is my go-to way to unwind and let my creativity flow. So, let me walk you through how I create digital art, step by step. This is my process of drawing @liasteem the founder of Steem For Ladies Community.

Step 1: Sketching the Outline

Every great piece starts with a simple sketch. I kick things off with rough outlines using a soft red color. This helps me draft the basic structure without being tied down to any firm lines. It’s all about getting those proportions just right and making sure the pose and expressions feel natural. This part is really fun since I can be playful and free with my strokes.

Step 2: Refining the Sketch

Once I’m satisfied with the initial sketch, I switch to a more precise black line to refine the details. This step is about cleaning up the lines and adding finer details like facial features and clothing folds. Patience is key here; refining the sketch is crucial to ensure everything looks spot-on. Watching the character come to life with each refined line is incredibly rewarding!

Step 3: Adding Base Colors

Next up, coloring! I start by laying down the base colors. For the skin, I pick a soft, peachy tone that complements the character’s warm personality. The hijab gets a vibrant yellow, which looks stunning against the black outfit. At this stage, the colors are flat with no shading or highlights, but they already begin to pop!

Step 4: Shading and Highlights

Shading and highlights add depth and dimension. I use a slightly darker shade for shadows and a lighter one for highlights, creating a dynamic and realistic look. For the hijab, subtle shading brings out the folds and adds texture. The highlights on the face and clothes give the character a soft, glowing effect.

Step 5: Adding Details and Patterns

One of my favorite parts is adding intricate details and patterns. For this drawing, I added a beautiful swirly pattern to the hijab, which adds elegance and personality. These little touches make the drawing unique and special. A blush on the cheeks gives the character a cute, lively look.

Step 6: Final Touches

The final step is all about polishing. I tweak the shadows and highlights and ensure all lines are clean and crisp. Adding a colorful background helps the character stand out. For this piece, I chose a bright, cheerful background to complement the vibrant hijab.
