The Diary Game Contest #64: || My First Time Of Entering Banquet Hall, Government House Uyo, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria [19-12-2024]

Compliment of the season my beloved beautiful ladies in the house, I'm very excited to share with you my daily routine with you. Yesterday as I will say, was a great day for me and I plead with you all to kindly read to the end.

I am one of the lucky person that received a mail concerning the Government Business Grant and we were to convey at the Banquet Hall, Government House for the presentation ceremony yesterday at 1pm.

Before I left my house that yesterday to work I dressed well, know that I will be passing from there to the Government house, as you all know that the government house is not just an ordinary place, it's a place that's well serene, and full of securities and there's no anyhow movement there.

I took my breakfast first and also prepared my lunch and carried alongside to work.

Getting to my work place, I was checking my time in every minute because I didn't want to go late there and we were advised to be seated before 12:30pm. So my plan was to leave the office by dot 12noon so that I can use 30minutes for the journey.

So when it was close to 12noon I device a means to leave the office because in my office you're not permitted to take excuse of any reason, it won't be granted, that was why I didn't bothered telling my supervisor about it, but rather I thought of a nice place that can make me leave the office to this presentation.

I was able to maneuver with a solid reason to leave the office and left to the Government house. I was thinking on my way how I will be able to enter the place, alone, how I wish I knew anyone that is also going for the same program I would have align with the person and we move together.

As God will do it, inside the bus that I was in, there a lady that was announcing to the drive that she is going to the Banquet hall, within my mind I said thank God I have seen someone. So when we all highlighted from the bus, I approached her and we talked and she was more happier than me as she was able to make the list and also lucky to see a friend which she can be gisting with while inside there.

We got in there successfully, we were ushered in and given a seat to sit, everywhere was filled up with youths from differentLocal Government Area , with dignitaries and some high standard persons from the government.

While we were there waiting for the arrival of the Governor, I saw one of my church member, a steemian also, @loolluv she was shocked to see me there and we hug ourselves and she came and sat close to me, though she came with a friend too.

Finally, the Governor arrived and the brass band sang with their trumpet and everyone were on standing ovation to welcome the arrival of our dear Governor, the Golden-boy. To our surprised he came with his deputy and other government officials, that's to tell how important the occasion was.

After all the salutations/pleasantries and introduction by the speaker, then the program started officially.

The Governor said so many things and I will quote some of his words down here.

Governor said the event was a testament to the fact that, “We don’t just talk the talk, but we also walk the talk.”
He noted that although putting the machinery in place to achieve a goal is always challenging, the official launch of the programme is proof that, “Whatever we say, we mean it. I am sure that by the report of the Senior Special Assistant on ICT this afternoon, you have seen the robust work that has gone into this programme.”
Governor Eno explained that the grant is aimed at supporting unemployed youths to start something meaningful while waiting for other employment opportunities on the portal.
He noted that 60,000 youths will benefit from the programme within one year and urged the beneficiaries to ensure the judicious application of the seed money, think big, and put their hearts and souls where their passions are.

After the governor has given his speech, some other dignitaries also said some few words of praise to him and then the presentation of cheque to the youth began.

After the presentation of cheque, the program came to an end and we all sand the State National Anthem, then after we departed from the hall.

I had to take few pictures from to grace my day in the Government house and also the beautiful clean, and calm environment🤣.

After the picture taking, I hurried back to the office and pretended as nothing happened and continue with my work. I arrived the office by 4pm and I was very hungry.

I remembered that I brought food from the house for my lunch, so I went and ate my meal.

After I finished eating I went back toy duty post. Customers came in and I made a lot of sales till our closing time passed, so after the last customer might have left, we parked in the displayed goods from outside inside the store and locked the shop, then we all went to our different houses.

When I got home it was already dark and I needed some rest to clear my head. So I quickly took a cold shower and jumped on the bed, that was how I slept off, by the time I woke up it was in the middle of the night 2am...

That was how my yesterday went and I say a big thank you for reading my post till the end.
