Go in through the narrow gate, because broad is the gate and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are finding it. (Mathew 7:13 & 14 of the new world translation of the Holy Scriptures)
Road can be literal or figurative. When it is literal, it leads to a physical destination. The path can be well prepared for easy movement. Sad to say that most roads are not suitable for movement, thus leading to so many unfortunate situations.
When the road is literal, physical means of transportation can used on it be it vehicles, lories, motorbikes and so on.
I for example make use of the road on a daily basis. I go to my gym through the road, I go to the market through the road, and in fact, every of my outdoor activities are possible because of the availability of road network. Though some part of our roads here are not in order, some are under construction while others are wonderfully made for the purpose of movement.
Roads can also be figurative. This therefore means that it is not a literal road that could lead to a physical destination and that can be plied by physical means of transportation. For instance, the one mentioned in the quote above is definitely not a physical road but figurative. It has to do with a course in life that could lead to a particular outcome either good or bad. Our being here in steemit is a journey. We are on our steemit road heading somewhere.
How can one ply the physical roads as well as the figurative roads? Well, just as one prepares to use the physical road, one also needs to prepare to use the figurative road. For one to ply a figurative road, the person will have to bear the following in mind
Purpose
Destination
Rules
Route
👉Purpose
Before one starts moving on a road, there must be a purpose in mind. If it's a physical road, the person is either travelling for a business trip, recreation, school, work, worship, market and so on. There has to be a reason or else, one will be termed a mad person.
Same thing is applicable to those on figurative road, there must be a purpose. Those who are in school want to be successful in life. Those who are serving God want to have a good relationship with their creator. Same is applicable to every other endeavors in life.
👉Destination
Referring to the quote above, there are two destinations to this figurative roads, life and destruction. So, there must be a destination that each road leads. It depends on the one we want to choose. Our steemit journey has a destination and everyone is striving to get there- be a successful blogger. Those in a marriage want have a successful marriage life and so on.
👉Rules
Just as in physical roads, there are rules governing figurative roads too. We call them traffic laws in physical roads. They must be followed strictly if one will like to continue on that road and get to their destination and as well achieve their purpose or goals.
Same is true of figurative roads. There are rules governing any path we choose to trade. Referring to the quote above, cramped is the road leading off into life. Therefore, one must apply the rules which are what make the road cramped if one wants to be successful. Because of the rules, those finding this road are few.
On the other hands, the road leading off into destruction is spacious. The rules are very loose to the extend that you are free to play as you like and that is why those finding it are many.
Our steemit journey has rules and laws and we all have to follow them strictly to be able to achieve our purpose of being here. We have to
Avoid plagiarism.
Avoid AI generated contents.
Regularly power up to be and remain in clubs, either 5050, 75 or 100.
Upvote other users
Engage with others
And so on.
Failure to follow these rules might attract some measure of punishment that you can never imagine.
👉Route to follow
In as much as we are free to walk on both physical and figurative roads, not all roads leads to our destination. You can't be going to the market and follow the road to another city where there is no market. The route to follow matters a lot else, all efforts one makes to be on that road will be a waste of time. Let us strive hard to follow the right path that leads to our destination.
You can't create content to be posted in steemit and post it in hive blog and expect to get support on that publication from steemit. You can't post a Publication that is meant for a particular community on another community. The route must to first select the community or go into steemit.com and create your content.
In the end, we all want to achieve success, hence, it is very important that we determine our destination, our purpose, obey the rules and follow the route.
