Wednesday was one of the days I stepped out to both support women making impact in the digital space and also learn from those who are blazing the trail.
The internet space is such a fascinating world, and as technology advances beautiful innovations are being built on the world wide web. One of such beautiful innovation is the Web3 space and it's such a beautiful thing to see women taking the lead and blazing trails in this space.
I stepped out to celebrate and learn from such women. One in particular made me more eager to attend
She had hosted an online webinar some weeks ago and I had been intimated about it, but i couldn't connect with her as she was in another state, so imagine the joy I felt hearing she would be coming to my state to speak. I quickly rearranged my schedule as I am fascinated about this web 3 space and how to make the most from it. Also coming from another woman who is doing well in this space, I know it's possible for me too.
The event she was invited to speak at was called " Unlocking Africa's digital culture".
Here are a few things I learnt from the ladies who spoke at the event;
Money has left being physical, and it has gone on online. If you can acquire relevant skills, you can make money from the comfort of your home wherever that is.
A woman doesn't need to wait to get to an age before learning skills that can help them better their lives and add value to the society.
Knowledge is all around you. You don't need to go to a physical school before you can learn. Education is in it's essence creativity.
Nothing is impossible. No niche is un-enterable( for lack of a better word)
After the session we had a meet and greet where I interacted with some of the speakers, other attendees and even took pictures.
I'll end this post with these few points;
Watch your circle, know where you're going to and surround yourself with a community of like minded individuals.
Technology might not get you into rooms, but someone you know will open doors for you, this is why it's good to connect as no woman was made to be an island.
That thing you think is impossible for you to do, some woman out there has done it and moved onto greater things, find them and learn from them.
Women can be great motivators for each other, so instead of competing with one another,lets collaborate with each other as collaboration will take us higher faster. @jovita30 @alexanderpeace @hyacinthfavour join in.
Till I come your way via my next post.
