It is my pleasure to have you again for our weekly "food thought." You are welcome to a beautiful week of possibilities!

Here you can find last week's episode in case you missed it.

The week's topic says "Be Persistent to Succeed!" What is persistent?

Persistent means to keep pushing, pressing and moving forward despite the obstacles, difficulties, or oppositions.

Have you ever watched a wrestling match where one party beats his opponent to almost death but this opponent, even in his dead state, fights back to get him down? It is called fighting with your last strength.

I don't know if you have the idea that success comes to those who never give up, to those who never say never, to those who are persistent. Success is like a magnet; once it feels something like it, it magnetizes.

Let me share a story of a young lady (Debica). She was a very beautiful and attractive lady, the dream woman of all the young guys in camps. She knew she was beautiful and never allowed to be carried away by it.

She struggled to pass all exams and score good grades in school, but this was just on her final year in the university. She met this young, promising-looking man that swept her off her feet. She thought this man was it all, and she has gotten what she wants—a man and her success in school.

Few months into the relationship, she was confirmed pregnant. Debica cried all the tears in her eyes until there was no tear to push the cry. She went home to meet her parents; her mom was very bitter to the extent of sending her away, but her father knew that his daughter was going somewhere and she needed to get there.

Debica, a law student, is now a house pregnant lady. She stayed with her parents and never returned to school until she delivered her baby. After the baby was delivered, Debica called her parents to have a little discussion with them.

She said she was sorry for bringing this shame to the family, but she has a dream and plan, and she needs to carry them out. Her father told her that they will support her fully in her academics until she finishes.

This time, Debica started from square one. She wrote all exams over again and got admission into a different school, and guess what? She came out as the as the number one best student in the whole school and had job offers from firms outside the country.

She knew she had a dream, she knew that her story was not over, she knew the side attraction of success, and that was why she persisted.

Somebody will say it's because she had the support of her parents; no, that is not the reason. It was because she is not a loser; whatever goals she sets, she must win. She never believed in giving up.

Have you ever studied the life ants? If no, try to study the life of ants to see if they ever give up. Ants are very persistent, they can never give up no matter how many of them you kill.

I have studied ants over time and discovered that they like pushing hard, they enjoy working together, no one is left behind in the camp of ants. When one road closes, the deviate another road to continue.

Sometimes I wonder how God created these ants for them to have such persistent spirit. When you fall and remain on the floor, you are automatically a failure, but when you fall and rise immediately, that's the beginning of your success story!

Take a good look at the above image; what do you see? These are a group of men in a race, but one man, without his legs in place, came to join the men to race. Do you think he can win this race?

It could be that he has tried this same thing over time and people around will tell him to go and rest that he can't win, but he never gave up; he kept persisting for him to succeed.

If you are a Bible lover, you would agree with me that the bling Bartimaeus kept persisting until he met Jesus. The woman with the issue of blood kept persisting until she met Jesus.

It doesn't matter what people are saying about something; the question should be, What are you saying about it? What is your decision about your success story? Do you tell yourself that because you had a baby out of wedlock, you cannot marry again, or because you failed one interview, you can't have a good job, or because you came from a poor family, riches and wealth are far from you?

What you tell yourself matters. What you believe matters and what you see matters. I keep saying this, "See what you want to become.".

On this platform, persistence is the key to success. You might give up today, and the next minute is your successful day. "The patient dog eats the fastest bone.".

Stay focused and don't get distracted! Keep pushing and remain persistent to have your success story delivered to you! Don't let your voice be shut, keep shouting like the blind Bartimaeus until your story is heard...
