SEC16W1: It is Women’s Day!

Greetings to all the ladies, participants and members of this community. This should be my first publication here and I believe you enjoy it as you read through

IN ADVANCE; HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY

My mother is a woman, My sister is a woman, So I celebrate them all in advance for the upcoming women's day. Investing in women is an essential step that will accelerate progress in all areas of society. Women have contributed so much to the society, without the activities of women which are childbearing and raising, the ability for the society to expand is impossible. Recognizing them and empowering them is one way to celebrate them in our lives and this is a step up to progress.

WAYS OF RECOGNIZING AND CELEBRATING WOMEN IN OUR SOCIETY

Recognizing women does not mean bringing up a woman and then clapping for her, though clapping for her is necessary but that should be done after the recognition of her suggestions. "Women are beautiful" and a lot of people may take that statement as an appraisal for women, but celebrating a woman is more than that.

Giving them the full right for their contributions to society is what every government should do to ensure all women are happy. Her effort must be praised, Her suggestions must be accepted, Her rights must be fully recovered, Her emotions must be allowed full expression, and there must be no segregation, no injustice, no molestation of women, if this is done the recognition we hope to channel to them will be achieved in no time.

I brought up the "recognition" aspect because anything not recognized can never be invested upon, recognition simply means knowing the place of something in our lives and society and also the benefit we would achieve from it. So investing in women is very necessary and here are some of the investment strategies that should be employed.

Education and Skills Education; Let's kick against the statement that says "women education ends in the kitchen", It is very improper to say that in this civilized age where we have seen women that have explored the world. Listen, educating a female child, is educating the world that revolves around her because she will definitely bring out the best from her generation born and unborn.

Economic empowerment; Women have needs too and they must be paid equally with the opposite based on the work they performed. If a woman does the same work as a man, we should not ask, what will she do with money?, she is a woman. Women also assist their husband in catering for the family and so should be paid equally.

Rights; In my country, gone are the days, when women would be threaten to death, if the expose cases of rape, molestation, violence etc. Today in my state and in my country a girl child, which is a young woman is not joked with. Any case of rape will land the offender in prison, I heard a news, that a country passed a bill of castrating a rapist, that quiet amusing but it shows how how dearly this things have been taken to consideration.

Health Care; I will end my publication here by saying that a woman should be provided with a very good and well equipped health facility at the emergence of any form of illness. Our women's health has been worsening lately because of stress and the economic downturn and one way to show how much we love them is to provide them with quality health care, their health conditions shouldn't be taken for granted.
