For Better for Worst: regrets in most modern day marriage vows.01/06/2024

It's been horrible in my sister inlaw's home for years now,worst of it all is last night I had a sad news that she fainted on a domestic attack by her husband.
Please read through the story line and be grateful to God for the very peace of mind you enjoy,I will also be glad to receive your humble counselling on this matter.

"For better for worse" is a traditional wedding vow in my society,But some couples choose to modify this vow to, "For better for better" due to their personal reasons,choices or their lives' vision.
Most couples I have interviewed that prefer 'for better for better' to 'for better for worst' said that their reasons are based on ground that they don't want to suffer any form of hardship in their marriages.
They would love to enjoy their marriages instead of enduring them.
However,in the case of my sister in-law,one day,I had the opportunity to witness a fight between her and the husband where her husband nearly killed her with a gun.
What was the issue?

My sister in-law's husband is a member of community policing,they are vigilante group that watches over the communities in the state. It happened that one day,his team members returned operations late at night and decided to pass a night in their home (my sister in-law's home).
then the next day,they all left to their houses.
But it happened that One day when my sister in-law returned from the market,she saw a lady trying to button up her husband's trouser,suddenly my sister in-law saw the motion and shouted on the lady.
After which she faced the husband for allowing such joke.
Before you know it,both of them started exchanging words and fight developed.
My sister in-law's husband ran to pick a gun so as to end their marriage,and my sister in-law noticed the action and ran for her dear life away from the home that day.

Second to it was yesterday,when my husband broke the news to me that her sister has fainted,As I shouted hey! what caused the fainting? My husband narrated that this time,Due to economic hardship in the country,my sister in-law's husband called his wife(my sister in-law) to help him cultivate the soil for agricultural reasons,but his wife refused stating that she is washing clothes also very tired to engage in any form of farming that day.
Her husband came suddenly and hit her on the back of the neck,and she fainted.

We are highly grateful to God that my sister in-law survived the violence.
Now,my husband's family has scheduled to meet,in order look into the causes and effects of the constant misunderstanding and fight in my sister in-law's family,possibly involve legal solution over their matter,if my sister in-law accepts such meeting over their matter.
I will update you by next week,the outcome of such meeting over such domestic violence.
