Early on the morning of Saturday being the 18th day of May my sister and I took off for a Medical Outreach at St Mary's Catholic Hospital Ikot ekpene, Akwaibom State. My sister was invited as a Pharmacist to help in the Outreach and I volunteered to go with her.
Helping people is one thing I love doing and I decided to utilize this opportunity that came. On getting to the venue, some of the patients were already there waiting for us and we get to work. The people of the Community really turned up and at a point the work become tedious. Some of the patients really gave us tough time,
Some kept on complaining and shouting at us that we were slow and wasting their time, as if that wasn't enough after administrating drugs to them some complained that the drugs we gave them were small. But at the end, we did what we're good at which was helping people.
I really enjoyed the outreach even though some of the patients were rude, most of them were very nice and listened to the advice we gave them. One major challenge I had was that I couldn't understand their dialect because most of the people that came for the Outreach were old people who couldn't communicate in English language and I don't understand their native Language. Thanks to one of people that helped to interpret their native language to me. Thanks for reading my post, I invite @ukpono, @chilaw, and @dave-hanny to participate in this contest.
