What happened

On the 2nd day of August 2024 being Friday, I prepared and left my house in Uyo to University of Nigeria Nsukka for my younger sister's Matriculation ceremony. A friend that gave me directions said that I should enter a bus at Peace Park. On getting to Peace Park around 11am in the morning, I found out that I was the first passenger going to Nsukka. I didn't want to take the risk of waiting for long because I have experienced that before.

I made up my mind to go to Akwaibom State Transportation Company (AKTC) and enter a bus going to Aba then from Aba I will enter another bus that will take me to Nsukka. I got to Aba around 2.15pm in the afternoon. I was very excited and said that atleast by 7.30pm I will be in Nsukka. It was after buying my ticket that I discovered that I was the 2nd passenger to enter the bus.

It took our bus over 3 hours to get filled and we finally left around 5.30pm. To make the matter worst the Vehicle was heavily loaded with load and I couldn't move my legs and due to the loads it was moving slowly. As if it weren't enough, smokes were coming out from the Bus and it was affecting my eyes.

We finally got to Nsukka park around 10.45pm in the night. I was so scared because I haven't traveled this late before. Highest I have been outside is 8.30pm. The school gate was already closed because they normally lock it by 10pm so I had to go sleep in my friend's house that night because she stays off Campus. The bikeman that took me there charged x3 of the normal amount.

What you have learned from it

What i learnt is this. Anytime you're going to a far destination, always make sure you leave very early In the morning and also whenever you're in a hurry, always check the number of passengers in the Vehicle you're boarding before buying a ticket. Thanks for reading through my post. I invite @chilaw and @ogechukwu-martha to participate in this contest.

I really learnt a lot. I wonder how you checked the number of people in the bus the first time, and didn't remember to do that the second time. I school in UNN though

Thanks for your review.

I can only imagine the what you might of pass through. This is one of the disadvantages of using public transport. However, the most important thing is to thank God for life even though it wasn't a smooth journey. Thanks for sharing.

I also went for my brother's matric at university of nsuka but my own was different, Am leaving beside the school so I just trek and enter inside school.

Wish I saw you that day shaa.
