Tell your story#32 (False Accusation)

Hello Lovely Ladies

Hope y'all slept well? I did and as you can see am already awake and I thank God for everything. In October 2024 something happened and it was when I was thinking of a story to talk about in this contest that I remembered that event that took place when I went to balance account in my place of work. I thank @ruthjoe for organizing this contest and I also want to try my best to do better in today's post.

The Day My Boss Accused Me

I went to my place of work that day to balance account of what we did the previous day. In my place of work, I work in the cater department, not upstairs where meat pies and other snacks are made, am not also behind the cater where they bake the breads. We working in the cater normally close by 11pm and this is the reason why we have one off day, if we work today won't work tomorrow, we will just come tomorrow to balance the account of what we worked out the today.

I arrived there and met two of my colleagues, they haven't started so we started immediately I came and we were so focused so that we won't make any mistake. We always try our best to also ensure that we don't cause shortage but excess instead, what I mean by excess is that we should have more gain than loss which happens whenever a customer decides to pay higher than the normal price of a bread or any other item.

Immediately we finished balancing the account after two hours, getting excited that we are about to go home before our boss showed up all of a sudden and told the three of us with our manager to follow him to his office upstairs. I frown because I needed to go home on time, I already know that our boss will waste our time and he eventually did. He said that he saw some suspicious things in is laptop through his CCTV camera earlier that morning.

My boss said he saw me carrying bread to the house the previous day and told me to explain how I did that, whether I bought it or stole it. I was very surprised because my boss is clearly aware that I don't steal at all so why has he decided to waste our time? I told my boss that my elder brother walked up to the cater and gave me money from the bread after giving me instructions from our parents. My elder brother went upstairs to charge his phone and wait for me till we close so that he can escort me home in the midnight just as he always do.

My boss didn't believe so he decided to take my phone after I gave him my brother's number so that he can call him. My boss was so anxious to know how I bought the bread. My elder brother's phone rang and he picked the call and answered my boss so my boss asked him to tell him how he paid for the bread and he said this below 👇

I entered the place and went straight to the cater to o give Prisca the money our parents gave me to give her to come home with one bread. I left the bread with her and went upstairs to wait till she closes.

I was so excited that moment because my elder brother was saying exactly what I told my boss before he called him. I felt very proud of my brother for answering my boss boldly and giving him enough reasons why I didn't steal the bread. My boss started looking weird, he also knows that my elder brother doesn't tell lies. I went back home feeling happy after the brief meeting ended.

My elder brother and I talked about it at home and he wasn't happy with the way my boss was accusing me, I told my parents as well and my dad saw it as a big insult but they decided to overlook the situation. There was another day my brother decided to buy bread, he said he should take the bread upstairs where he normally wait for me to close, so that when I carry it my boss won't think I stole the bread, we were laughing that moment as I used the bread and the money to face the CCTV camera up. My colleague laughed so loud because of what I did and I told her that I want to show our boss that my brother paid for the bread.

Lessons I Learnt

• I learnt to remain bold each time we are being accused of something.

• I learnt to always give the bread to my elder brother each time he buys it instead of me holding it till closing time.

• I learnt to be attentive as i managed to listen to every part of drama which made me not to lose focus and end up looking like an actual thief.
