INTRODUCTION
Hello my fellow steemians, I still remain @vickkybaby. I am here to participate in this contest. This contest is really teaching me alot so I will also teach others. I will love to answer some questions here.
From your understanding what is food? Share some pictures of food you can identify with their names.
Food is any substance which can be consumed by living beings which can include human in order to give energy, nutrition, and also give support to growth.
There are different types of food which I will be sharing with you guys with their pictures respectively
There are;
- Fruits: there are so many types of fruit which are Apple, Banana, Mango, Strawberry, pawpaw and many more.
- Vegetables: Vegetables are so nutritional to human and it support healthy living so much and there are; Broccoli, Carrot, Spinach, Tomato, pumpkin, onions and many more.
Proteins: It is a source of food which gives energy to the body example Chicken, Salmon, Beef, Tofu, rice etc.
Grains: There are different types of grains which could be boiled before there are eaten and there are Rice, beans, maize, millet.
Among the six classes of food, which one do you take most in a day and why?
My preferable class of food to take most in a day is Carbohydrates. Below are the reason why;
- Energy source: Carbohydrates are the main source of energy in the human body.
*Brain function: Carbohydrates are needed for brain function and also the development of the brain.
Fiber content: Complex carbohydrates for example whole grains, fruits, and vegetables gives fiber, which give supports to healthy digestion and satiety.
Nutrient-dense: Many carbohydrate-rich foods are as well rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
- Supports physical activity: Carbohydrates are usually stored as glycogen in the muscles, which provides energy for a lot of physical activity.
Remember, a balanced diet that includes all six classes of food in moderation is important for the overall health and well-being!
Do you think we should take water immediately after meal or before meal? State your reasons
It's generally recommended to drink water before and after meals, but not always immediately after meals. Below are the reasons why:
Before meals:
Digestion: Water helps I'm dissolving nutrients and soluble fiber, and making them more accessible into the body.
Appetite control: Drinking water before meals can help u the reduction of appetite and gives support to weight management.
After meals (but not immediately):
*Digestion: Drinking water immediately after meals can dilute stomach acid and the digestive enzymes, possibly hindering digestion.
- Nutrient absorption: Waiting for like 30-60 minutes after eating gives room for optimal nutrient absorption before taking in more water.
