SEC13 WK2 “Life partners and their qualities”

There is one funny story in Sri Lanka that goes something like this, When someone enjoying what seems like the juiciest ripest, and sweetest mango, we will feel like, "Wow, that person's got a seriously sweet mango! I've got to have one too!". Then when that person finds a mango, it may not be as sweet as expected but since he bought it, he’s going to eat it anyhow.

This story suggests that until someone experiences it, we always tend to think how sweet is that mango and I should definitely have one. But God knows how sweet it is! So, remember when it comes to life partners and mangoes, it's not just about having one, it's about having the juiciest and sweetest quality around! 😂🥭

👉 What are your partner’s best and worse qualities? Why?

First of all, this can be a suicidal contest for a man if he doesn’t know how to answer this question. So, I’ll start by saying that my partner has the best qualities you would ever find in a woman. She’s lovable, ever so soft and takes care of me in every situation.

What is her best quality for me though, Well, I would say “She’s the most supportive one”. he believes in my decisions and actions and has been my rock through thick and thin. Even when things didn't go as planned, she offered me suggestions and unwavering support. She never complains or trolls me for my mistakes. Till now, her support has changed the course of my life.

Next, I would say cleanliness, she always tries to keep the house clean all the time. Even when she's tired or it's the mid night, she won't forget to tidy up. I've learned a lot from her about maintaining a clean and organized home. To be honest, I didn't give cleanliness much thought before we were married.

The worst quality! She has a tendency to misplace valuable things like gold, jewelry, and important documents. When we are in need of those sometimes we have to check for hours and I’ve to be a treasure hunter 🙃. Because of this now I've taken on the responsibility of keeping these things safe. She grew up in a family with 04 elder brothers and I guess they probably took care of such matters, so it's a habit she never developed.

👉 If you could change one quality, what would it be?

She’s a bit afraid to drive and she's not entirely comfortable on the road. She hates crowded roads and gets a bit anxious in hectic traffic. This quality has led to me accompanying her wherever she goes. Now, we are in the process of getting her driver's license. I guess with the license and practice from the learners she will gain the courage to drive on the road.

👉 Share that one incident that made you love your partner even more

One time we were in a really rough patch with finance and I had to take a decision to invest all what I had into a business and leave my job. It was make or break decision which was very risky. In the face of uncertainty, she wholeheartedly supported me saying that even without a job we will manage life but go for what you love to do. This has given me courage and I knew that my partner is with me in this journey. She was willing to make all the sacrifices and live to the bare minimum.

This is true companionship from her because if she wasn’t supporting me, I would have never started my business or a business to herself. All the good things in our lives have begun to shape with this sacrifice we made. So, when I look back on that moment with gratitude, knowing that I have a true soulmate as my life partner.
