Winter is always very special season, it is cold, sometimes very cold and occasionally snowy. We often ready for cold temperatures but in general in UK it is mild winter and temperature is around between 2 and 8C. It feels like long autumn.
Last few weeks we had weather warning about coming cold days and some snowing but also flooding. We did not expect that it will be lasting too long. Actually after few days usually it gets better but not this time. We had to switch on heating during days and nights now as inside of house with medium level of heating it is about +12, +13C and it is really cold.
I am reading and watching news every day and from today’s Skynews page we see that there is weather warning again due to Snow and Ice. Over central and western part of England it is expected to have temperature drop to -16C. That is really cold and I can not imagine how it will be, there is warning for travellers with trains and planes, there possibility of disruption and advised to be more careful when planning trips. It is good that I do not have any trips and if it is too cold for transport then I can walk. I prefer walking to travelling.
The only thing that we need to make sure is that our gas supply will be fine. I heard from some of my friends that their pipes were burst due to cold, that is why they had cold apartments for few days till they were repaired. For some old houses it is good because they have fireplaces and you can use open fire or wood burner. But one need to make sure that there is enough wood, alternatively it is still easy to buy in any supermarket.
So, we will see how the weather will be for us.
I am inviting following users for contest: @rumanaafroz, @sana-khan01, @iqrabatool34
Thank you for participating…..
It sounds like you are experiencing quite a winter in the UK. The mild temperatures you mentioned are already cold, and with the weather warnings and expected snow and ice, it looks like it will only get more intense.

Thank you for verification and reading, today is the coldest weather everywhere but from tomorrow on it should get warmer. The only positive side of those days despite of having cold we do not have much snow like about 5 years ago when even some organisations and travel institutions were shut down. We hope that this is the coldest part of winter but who knows there might be more surprises :)

I read your post and realized that it is very cold in the UK at the moment. It is getting very cold in Pakistan these days and they are telling about the forecast of rains in the next few days.

Thank you for reading, yes, winter in UK is cold and usually feels like it lasts very long. Instead of snow like here you have rain, this is also not really nice but it is not for a long time :)
