Flu vaccine to do or not to do?

It is again winter time and what is happening around everyone is talking about Flu vaccine. IN UK it is widely spread that this time all GP Surgeries as well some organisation have posters and flyers about vaccination. There are always pictures and information telling how many serious cases were last year and often we all stuck in front of the thought to do or not to do?

When I think about my last few years, I definitely had my Flu vaccine during COVID time together with COVID vaccine, because it was risky to get both diseases and also we saw many people who died during these time.

After COVID I remember I did my vaccine in first year and I was fine throughout winter, luckily no viral infection. As to last year I did not get vaccine because it was too busy time I was not able to get to GP surgery till Christmas, then after X-mas and New Year it was already end of cold days and I got over winter without any problem.

My mother does Flu vaccine every year, some years despite of that she still have viral infection but even then it is very light and who knows if that would be more serious without. At least she thinks that it helps her and that is good if someone believes, we know that sometimes if we trust and believe that something is helpful then it works. Maybe it activates our own immune system.

Couple of my colleagues had Flu vaccine during this week and I am hearing that almost all of them had light viral infection type symptoms like running nose, headache and just tired. One colleague yesterday had to go home as was not able to concentrate on anything. Seeing that I am not sure if to do or not. On other hand I probably do end of the week like today Friday, then I have weekend off and can stay in bed.

We will see how the day will go, I might see how the day will go, often it is spontaneous decision.

What about you, are you also struggling with decision to do or not to do Flu vaccine?

I am inviting following users for contest: @rumanaafroz, @sana-khan01, @vickyson

Especially as winter approaches, it's great that you share your thoughts on the flu shot. I completely understand the dilemma of whether or not to get vaccinated, especially when hearing mixed experiences from others.

Reading about the flu made me shudder. Guess it's the thought of COVID-19 doing its thing.

Stay safe, Wuddi.
