SEC16 W5: “My... Romeo and Juliet”

in hive-168072 •  6 months ago

Hello friends, welcome to my page today. It has been a great moment in this holy week as we continue to mark the death and resurrection of our Lord. Tomorrow is Easter Sunday, a day set aside to celebrate by all Christians worldwide the resurrection of our Messiah. It is a day that symbolizes love and a time to show kindness to everyone around us. Christ is love, and we have to be living examples of His footsteps.

I may not be in a good position to share other people's love stories as all that glitters isn't gold. Since I may not be in the best space to say all that happens to them, sharing my line of love story would be a bit clearer and fair in its originality. Stories we know how it happened and also in the picture are better narrated.

I started my love life in the context of the contest in question sometime in my university days. Though we all had love lives right from our families and friends, but for that of the Remeo and Juliet, this may defer from person to person. My university days opened this chapter for me.

I met my spouse, who I am happily married to sometime about two decades ago. We all attended the same university and I was in my third year. She was still a fresher or in her first year when I met, and i immediately knew there was something different about her.

We all became friends thereafter, and I kept believing all we would be cool. Made some manly moves to make her trust and believe in my person. It was an easy task as they were moments of heartbreak and sober reflection. Just as we know, where the heart finds solace is where all our treasure dwells. I kept pushing forward despite the rejection for an official date.

But interesting, i got a yes in my 5th year and final year in the university, and by then, she was in her 3rd year. This relationship was short-lived because I was already passing out when this acceptance happened. I had to build lasting memories to hold on to so we could still keep up with the course even when we're apart due to distance. Since school was our meeting place

I went for the National Youth Service program almost a few months after graduation, which made physical seeing a little difficult. Funnily, when I passed incmy NYSC, she also went in the same state to serve. I don't know how it happened, but that was the reality. We both schooled in the same place and immediately after that, went to the same place of primary assignment (NYSC).

Life continued, and we got talking with some pockets of disagreements and agreements here and there. We made up like every other person out there. I got my first job after 6 months of application, which helped prepare me for the life task ahead. I was able to pull through in my job and got a full-time place and confirmation. After another 2 years, I was able to take my precious wife to the altar for blessings.

Marriage isn't a for the faint-hearted, and only the strong and mature ones could carry the intricacies that come from it. There is no defined pattern that works for all, but instead, we look out for works best for us. There are moments of ups and downs, but what binds us is stronger than what separates us.

We have to play roles of helpmeet and support each other where necessary. We don't need to keep counting how much we are offended but rather always expect the best out of any situation. Just as mentioned before, we are stronger together than what separates us. This is our formidable wall to resist third-party influence. We fight off intriders collectively and come in a house to settle our misfires.

Thank you, friends...
