My warmest wishes and soulful love to all. Today I am here to participate in the contest of 📣 “ Choices! What will it be? #46”. I would like to thank Steem For Ladies Community and Madam @patjewell for arranging such an amazing contest. I always try to participate in such of these nice contests so that I can share my inner thinking through my writing. Among the five topics, today I have chosen the fourth one which is “HOUSEWIFE”. Due to being a housewife, I chose this topic and I am sure I can relate to every housewife's inner feelings.

Who is a housewife?

By the word “Housewife” we basically mean a woman who manages the household and family affairs of her domestic growing house. Nowadays many men help and complete various household tasks but by housewife we mean women. A housewife takes all her energy, time, and responsibilities for free and handles all household cooking, household cleaning, child care, and family financial management.

In earlier times a predominant idea was that women would only be engaged in all household activities and men would be all financial earners. But in the current modern and developing era, women not only do the household work, but they also play a special role in earning money along with men. Many housewives these days have created a way of earning money through their various latent talents. For example, many people have created a strong position in society by blogging on YouTube, selling various products online, selling many homemade foods, etc. Through this, they have made their families financially prosperous besides becoming self-reliant.

Role of a housewife

A housewife's work has no fixed time or limit, she has to complete all the tasks of a family. Some of the tasks that a housewife has to complete throughout the day are discussed below

Meal menu planning and cooking :
Among the all household chores a housewife’s important job is to plan and cook meals by keeping in mind family preferences, needs, budget, and health. She always makes sure that the food menu does not exceed the financial budget and also everyone gets a balanced meal. She also plans the food items for any special occasion and celebration. The housewife always proves her culinary prowess by maintaining harmony in all the dishes which amazes the family many times. Her main goal is always to provide nutritious food to every member of her family so that they can enjoy the food with pleasure.

Habitat cleaning and beautification :
Maintaining a clean and tidy home environment is the main responsibility of a housewife. The place where all the members of the family are living must be healthy so his main goal is to maintain this cleanliness, he always vacuums the carpet, sweeps the floor, cleans the bathroom, cleans the kitchen and dusts the papers. Moreover, all the household items are properly and beautifully decorated, the necessary things are neatly arranged in a small number of places and it is cleaned regularly. Housewives mainly do all these tasks when their family members go to work outside the house and working housewives try to tidy up a little every day and clean up nicely on holidays.

Laundry :
Another essential aspect of home management for housewives is laundry. Housewives wash their clothes and all the family member's clothes very consciously, dry them, iron them, and arrange them in the closet so that everyone can easily find their required things on time. This is not the end of her work while washing clothes she must take care that the color of one cloth does not stick to another, she has to separate each cloth according to the type and also follow the amount of detergent, and the duration of time in the washing machine. She must take care of the clothes by reading the care instruction label that comes with the clothes. She also needs to carefully check how much heat temperature has to give in time of ironing different kinds of fabrics like - iron cotton, linen, synthetic, and cell fabrics.

Care and upbringing of children :
Mother's role in children's lives is most important so as a housewife a woman never fails to do her duty of raising her child with lots of love and affection. He always tries his best to ensure that his children are educated in good health and with moral values, which are primarily received by children from their families. A mother cum housewife always encourages and guides her children to develop healthy eating habits, social learning, and moral values. She is always concerned that her children never get any negative influence from any circumstances.

Grocery shopping :
Among the tasks of housewives, one is also grocery shopping. They make lists by following their necessities and shopping for them. They always buy their essentials within their budget. In time shopping they always make sure that their essentials are fresh, healthy, durable, and have the expiry date. They are also conscious about purchasing the products for their children.

Give emotional support to their family :
Housewives are always aware about the emotional state of mind of their every family member. No matter how they are depressed or tense but they always support their family on their lower time. They encourage every members who are facing sorrows, sufferings, emotional sadness, or any stress.They have only one motive they try to make their family's spiritual bond stronger and keep everyone to be happy. To make every moment special they always try their best to surprise the family members with their small efforts within their limits.

Our reponsibility toward a housewife

As family members, friends, or the nearest one we all have some responsibility toward these hardworking housewives. From sunrise to sunset around the clock, they take care of all of us. So it is our core responsibility to do something that gives them happiness and comfort. According to me a few of the attempts are mentioned below that we all can do for them.

Appreciate their efforts and celebrate achievements :
Housewives have to work full time with hard work and dedication to manage the household. They spend every hour of their day to create a comfortable and pleasant environment for their family members. So we should always appreciate their hard work and their every effort. Any new recipe or any new attempt to decorate the house or their carrying ness toward the children must be welcomed by us always. We must always keep in our mind that behind these efforts her love and physical exertion are being hidden for us.

Assist and support their desires :
All of us should stand by the housewives to lighten the burden of housework. All the members of our family have to share their work. We can help them physically and mentally by doing small tasks such as sharing laundry clothes, folding clothes, or taking care of the baby. Everyone in the family must develop a teamwork mindset. In addition, we must pay more attention to what housewives have interests, hobbies, or goals. We must motivate them to do all those things which give them comfort and happiness. We encourage and support them so that they can fulfill their dreams and hidden desires so that they become self-reliant.

Communicate openly and provide emotional comfort :
We should make our communication with them more easy, beautiful and with mutual understanding. The housewife should be encouraged to express her needs, initiatives, and her opinion on any household issue. Any opinion given by her should be listened to carefully, understood as well as supported. She should always be mentally comforted and encouraged so that she never feels any pressure or initiative. Everyone in the family should have an attitude of valuing them and giving them due respect.

Take the Initiative to make her happy :

Keeping in mind the contribution of housewives and their tiredness of work and love of towards their family, we family members can sometimes give her some surprises or some good time. For example, we can gift her a nice time on his birthday, anniversary or give her some nice gift or go somewhere far away, or give her some time to herself. It will bring some happiness from the monotonous life and also make her bond with family members stronger.

Conclusion

Finally, we can say that a housewife is a very important person in a family as well as in society. She fulfills her responsibilities and duties towards the family with integrity despite facing various challenges every day. So we all should appreciate her work and give her due respect. Also, we all should try so that we can help and support him physically and mentally.
