Another weekend.....
Another road trip helping get a rescue dog to their new family.
This time it was Thor.
According to the rescue coordinator who is a longtime rescue friend Thor is a very lucky stray.
This lucky boy was rescued off the streets of Memphis. And then when a friend from AZ came to visit recently, he was captured by Thor's cuteness and wants to give him a home! How beautifully serendipitous is that?!
As seems to be the case with my transport adventures I would be covering 3 legs of his voyage from Memphis, TN to Tucson, AZ which meant an overnight camping out in the tiny Arizona border rest stop in Lupton after a 5 hour drive.
It was mid- morning when Thor arrived after his overnight stay in Albuquerque after his long first day of travel from Tennessee. I was glad to hear that he traveled well and was a sweetheart and right off the bat this 8 year old Shepherd/Boxer mix was wonderful.
Lots of doggy kisses 💋💋💋
It would have been nice to be able to give Thor more love and attention but since my wife and Lulu didn't come along I had to spend my time concentrating on the drive. Of course that didn't mean that I couldn't give him a little love (and vice versa).
Soon the excitement of a new person and the couple of hours of highway driving wore off and after a potty break and short walk it was nap time.
As always the miles of highway and hours on the clock seem to fly by when the lucky dog is on board and soon enough I was pulling into a Loves Truck Stop to hand off Thor to the next driver who would be the last stranger Thor would meet before being united with his new family in Phoenix and the start of a new chapter in his life.
As always... may you have many more happy years and happy times. Best wishes to Thor 💖💖💖
I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 7 years or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
💖Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy💖
Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations - they always need our help.
