Hello dear friends! Welcome to my post. How are you all? I hope you will be doing well by the grace of Almighty Allah. I'm also fine and enjoying my day. Today I'm here to participate in this amazing contest which is organized by @helengutier2 in this Healthy Steem community. The topic of this contest is about "Allergic Cough". Have you ever had a dry cough? What caused it?

Yes, almost everyone had dry cough at once in their lives because, it can spread in the people due to several reasons and make the things difficult for them. So I also had a dry cough several times in my life and I still remembered that the last time when I suffered from cough. That was the month of January and there was extreme cold all around. And I passed through an ares where there was a lot of smoke, dust and other harmful particles.

When I reached home, I felt nothing as I don't have cough but when I slept and woke up early in the morning, I was coughing badly, my throat was hurting and I was feeling a lot of irritation around my neck. Also, I had a pain under my ribs because of cough which was unstoppable. Seeing that condition, I decided to take some medicine and bought a syrup for cough from a medical store.

What home remedies have you used to calm an allergic cough?

To honest, I took a lot of syrups and soothing tablets to calm down the cough but it stopped for a while and then started again. These things were becoming unbearable for me because, my ribs was hurting very badly. So due to all these reasons, I have used a lot of home remedies to cure the dry cough. Let's have a look at some of these home remedies:

• I used honey with hot water to cure the dry cough and it was effective but not too much.

• Then I did the gargle with salty water and it reduced the irritation around my throat.

• Also I keep on using the syrups and strepsils lozenges which was very helpful to deal with cough.

How long has a dry cough episode lasted and how do you managed it?

In my whole life, I have never had a severe episode of dry cough than that. Yes this is because, I suffered in it for about a month and during that interval of time, I have changed a lot of things including my routine, the things I eat and my outdoor activities as well. So the following things I did to manage the dry cough:

• I tried to stay away from the dusty, smoky and polluted areas.

• I started using a face mask while going outside my house.

• I keep on taking the lozenges and the syrups to deal with the cough.

• Also I keep on gargling with the salty and hot water until my throat recoverd.

• Moreover, I start keeping myself hydrated by drinking a lot of water and fluids.

What are you allergic to that causes you cough uncontrollably?

Actually, there are many things which causes allergies in my body I'm very sensitive to them. All these things, can cause cough in me but it happens very rarely and when it doesn't happen, I suffered from sneezing, running nose and watery eyes due to the allergies. So, I'm allergic to following things and I try to stay away from them all the time these things are the:

• Dust Particles
• Stings of bees
• Red chillies
• Smoky areas
• Different types of food allergies
