Today am here to participate in this contest by @edgargonzalez thank you for the opportunity to celebrate the disabled on their day. I will do Justice to this contest with the hints given.

🧑‍🦽 What do you understand by disability?

Disability in my own understanding is a limiting condition which could be either physical and or mental which limits someone from participating effectively in activities. In other words is the limitation in someone ability to move, feel, see and even feel depending on the area where the disability affected.

🦻 Is the disability an impediment to carrying out any activity?

When someone is disabled, there is usually impediments in carrying out specific tasks or the activities for which the person is supposed to carry out effectively. For example, when someone is disabled in the legs, the person may not be able to move effectively, run around or even walk and hence is impeded in movement. The person may find a way to move but it won’t be as effective as someone who is whole on both legs.

People who are blind are limited in their freedom to move about and may require an aid to lead them about or make use of the white cane in advanced countries but the movement or the activities which that person is embarking on will not have an effective flow like someone who is seeing well.

Many people who are disable always have difficulties in one way or the other to effectively carry out their activities.

🧑‍🦯 What do you think life can be like for disabled people?

I feel life can be very challenging for disabled people. Come to think of it, life is challenging for people who are whole without issues. We even see some able bodied individuals over here in my country begging due to the hardship in the economy how much more the disabled people.

In advanced countries, there is a probability that the level of challenge disable people face may be reduced to compare with third world countries like mine. This is because the government had made available instruments and probably medically advanced technologies that could help to ease the stress disabled people go through hence making their lives easier.

But in my country is not so. Many disabled people turn into beggars just to make ends meet. You see them littered in all street corners, market places and around banks begging. This just portrays the extent of the hardship they pass through and they just have to make do with the peanuts that people give to them to sustain themselves and probably their families.

There are stories of disabled people who looked pass their disability to make the most out of their lifes but this is mostly seen in advanced countries and it’s not really the same over here in under developed countries or in developing worlds.

🧑‍🦽 Why is it said that a person is disabled?

A person is said to be disabled when there is a total or partial malfunctioning of a particular area of that person s body. It could be either mentally or physically. Whenever someone is found in a position that impedes perfect use of the body to carry out normal day to day life activities, that person is said to be disabled.

In conclusion, been disabled is not a death sentence and disabled people with determination can look pass their limitations and make the most out of their lives and we should try and help out in ways possible whenever we are in a position to reach out to disabled people.

That’s right. Having a fighting spot can make a whole lot of difference.
