Hey friends!! I'm excited to be blogging about weight through this contest organised by @helengutier2.
We often hear people say ”I'm watching my weight” or “my weight loss or weight gain journey”. This shows that our weight is important to us and it is necessary that we keep it in check to avoid the extremes of obesity or anorexia.
🥘 Do you have or suffer from a problem with your weight? Tell us
Well, I wouldn't call it a problem but I think I have difficulty gaining weight which can be a good thing. I eat as much as I can and wouldn't gain more than two kg..lol
I've always been a slim lady and I think it's genetic, so I do not gain weight easily having a slender body type. But I lose weight easily when under stress or if I skip meals due to work or other activities.
🫓 How do you control weight gain or loss in your life?
I control weight loss in my case by not skipping meals or undergoing excessively stressful activities and if I find out that I'm gaining weight lately I need to keep it in check so it doesn't go overboard. I try to eat healthy foods, green veggies and fruits. I also avoid carbonated drinks, instead I take blended fruits and drink lots of water. I also try to avoid unhealthy processed foods or too much fried foods and this can pose a challenge for those who rapidly gain weight and even for those who do not like me, taking excessive processed or fried foods are bad for the heart and other body parts.
🌮 You suffer from some problem in your metabolism. You know some pathologies
Yes, at times I have problems with food metabolism and I often get bloated, especially when I haven't had a bowel movement and just keep eating. So I keep this in check by having regular bowel movements, drinking lots of water still to regulate the body and taking detox drinks to cleanse the body.
To the best of my knowledge, I think pathologies in this context are some abnormalities in the metabolism that can lead to diseases or disorders in the long run. And I only know of one which is diabetes caused by high sugar levels which can affect metabolism and maybe EDS which also causes fluctuations in weight.
🍔 What is the concept of "Ideal weight"?
First, the ideal weight gain is not a one-size-fits-all concept. It varies based on body types, genes and even height. Taller people tend to weigh more than shorter ones, a person whose family is chubby will likely not be slim and vice versa. So the ideal weight is just the weight that is considered healthy for an individual based on the height, age, body type and even gender. We can also use the concept of the body mass index also known as BMI, the waist circumference and the percentage of body fat which all equates to an ideal weight, if all of them are in the appropriate measure or correct proportion.
🥙 You are currently at your ideal weight, and if not, what are you doing to reach it?
I'm doing just fine for now and my weight is very much okay for my age. So I think maybe gaining a few kg won't be bad at all. Though, I'm currently not working towards it but if I plan to reach the aim of gaining a few pounds, then I will take smoothies and fruits like avocado, milk shakes, yams and brown rice for weight gain.
Thanks once again for this contest. It is really important that we keep our weight in check as this will be beneficial for a healthy living and even increase longevity and the quality of our life.
I invite @lovinah @ulfatulrahmah @eliany
You look so beautiful and your skin glows. A glowing skin is a symbol of good health. A healthy body weight is beneficial to stay healthy as well.
Sometimes we are tempted to believe that adding a little more weight or losing a lot of it would make us healthier but there are so many factors that determine a healthy body weight like your height, etc.
Gene can play a huge role in determining our weight. Feeding and lifestyle can do their work as well.
I admire how you avoid carbonated drinks as a plaque but opt for blended fruits instead. I'd assure you that it is one of the best decisions any young person would make to stay healthy and live long.
