The first step to prevent infection or getting infected while treating a wound is to make sure that while treating the infected patient we maintain a distance that will prevent blood contact. Because if your blood comes in contact with any person's blood you will definitely get infected with any disease the person is infected with. Wounds take time to grow due to the lack of blood platelet cells to function properly and this makes the patient's blood difficult to clot as normal.

👉 How do you clean a wound properly before applying medication or a bandage?

Here are the steps you need to take in the process of cleaning a wound before applying medication or a bandage.

Before you begin to Clean a wound you are expected to wash your hands before you begin any other procedures. After washing your hands you now stop the wound from bleeding in other to carry out the next process. The next step is to rinse the wound with clean water, then wash the wound while wearing hand gloves, when you are done with that, you now remove the dirty particles that are in the wound with tweezers.

The next thing to do is to allow the wound to dry for some minutes before you apply antibiotics like peroxide, biguanides, or iodine to the wounded area, you then allow it to dry off for some minutes before you bandage the wound.

The reason why a wound is supposed to be moist during its early stage is that.

The main reason why you are supposed to keep a wound moist is to ensure that the dead tissues and the fibrin break down or wear off. Another importance of allowing a wound to get moist is to decrease the pain that is caused by the wound and it will help it to regain lost antibodies to fight against diseases.

If a wound is allowed to be kept most in other to prevent frequent dehydration of the body and also improve the appearance of the wound. A wound that is allowed to get moist will stop the constant attraction of insects to it. Moist wounds will not show a lot of scars after the healing process.

Actually, the signs that will definitely occur if a wound is infected are ;

When it is infected the wound will begin to have colored water and also the wound will begin to smell bad signs will definitely tell you the wound is infected. To also know that the wound is infected will refuse to heal and will also make you uncomfortable and cuz you to scratch it. The wound may also increase its manner of pain, i.e. the wound will become more painful than before, if it is also infected it will be usually visited by insects and sometimes worms.

I suggest that you go to the hospital to see a doctor in other to get tested and diagnosed by the Lab scientist in other to know the proper treatment to be administered to the patient.

You will be able to know if the wound requires medical attention if the wound is too big and the wound may be so open that blood rushes, the manner or way that blood rushes determines if the wound needs medical attention. The wound may also need medical attention if it was caused due to an incident or an accident.

The actual thing that caused the wound will determine if the wound also needs medical attention. The wound may bring out bad odors, this will make you know that the wound needs medical attention. Wounds that need medical attention are really painful so if the pain increases rapidly it will definitely tell you that medical attention is needed.

The wound will require medical attention if it expands in size and becomes more hard to heal.
