My Simple Hair Care Routine for Healthy and Strong Hair |

For me taking care of my hair isn't just part of beauty care, It's a self-care. Since childhood my mum taught me all about hair care. Nowadays i follow a few basic guidelines that helped to keep my hair healthy, thick and strong. I am not always able to follow all the ways for busy schedule but tried to look after my hair.

I do brush my hair every day. Every morning after I open my eyes and every night before going to bed, I comb my hair. It helps to eliminate tangles and enhances blood flow in the scalp. I try to wear a scarf to protect my hair from the dust and sun when I go out. Our hair gets dull and lifeless if we don’t drink enough water, that’s why I make sure to drink lots of water. Good foods gives the strength to our hair from inside.

I oil my hair two to three times a week. I use coconut oil or olive oil for my hair. Occasionally, I heat the oil before I apply and massage my scalp. Sometimes i have also added black seeds as they strengthens hair roots and decreases hair fall. I retain the oil in my hair for a minimum of 1 hour, if I have free time. Sometimes i keep it overnight. It makes my hair shinier and softer.

I always try to use good shampoo when washing my hair. Low grade shampoos containing excessive chemicals also dry hair and make damage. So i am very conscious about shampoo. I wash my hair and then I put a light conditioner on it, particularly on the ends to keep it soft and smooth. I occasionally use hair masks for extra treatment. I prepare hair masks using natural ingredients, such as honey, egg and olive oil. They are great in making my hair strong and healthy.

I trim my hair every two to three months to prevent split hair end. I use hair straighten sometimes. When I use it, I always spray a heat-protecting product on my hair first so I can minimize the damage. I always use cold or lukewarm water for my hair, I never use hot water.
I do not sleep with my open hair at night because my hair gets tangled, weak, and may break. Instead, I loosely braid or tie it in a soft bun. This reduces the chances of hair fall and is easier to comb in the morning.
Now, taking care of my hair is as normal as any part of my routine. I get lazy sometimes and do not follow anything. But I try to do my best. I feel good about myself and happy when my hair looks good.
