✅WHAT IS HEART ATTACK

Heart attack as the name implies is an attack to the heart, it occurs when the blood supplied to the heart which carries oxygen and nutrients is blocked(by fats, cholesterol) thereby preventing it from reaching the heart as a result, the heart muscle begins to die and the pumping ability of the heart begins to diminish. Heart attack is also known as Myocardial infarction.

✅WHAT ARE THE THREE SYMPTOMS OF HEART ATTACK EXPLAIN IT.

the three symptoms of heart attack are:
(1) Chest pain
(2) Shortness of breath
(3) Pain in other part of the body

✓ Chest pain: heart attack comes with a tightness or squeezing pain at the center or left side of the chest that often comes and go
✓ Shortness of breath: people often experience difficulty in breathing due to pressure on the chest and the inability of the heart to pump the blood effectively
✓ pain in other part of the body: there is feeling of pain that spread to the stomach, back, Jaw, and shoulders. These symptoms may start gradually before the attack or some maybe sudden without the person noticing any symptoms.

✅HOW DOES SMOKING AFFECT HEART ATTACK?

Smoking foster the risk of heart attack by causing a build up of plague in the blood vessels(a medical term known as arteriosclerosis)which block the flow of blood to the heart or narrow it flow thereby leading to heart attack.

✓ Smoking also causes a sudden rise in blood pressure and heart beat which is caused by the content in cigarette known as Nicotine, thereby putting extra strain on the heart

✓ Smoking makes the blood clots faster thereby increasing the risk of blockage in the blood vessels .

✅TELL ME A STORY ABOUT A HEART ATTACK THAT HAPPENED TO YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW

So this episode of heart attack actually happened to my uncle. I visited my uncle 2 years ago in his home in Abuja, we where together on that faithful day when he started complaining of chest pain and slight headache, he also complained of mild body pain we thought it was just stress and adviced he take a rest, on attempt to stand up to the bedroom he slumped and fell on the ground. We were so confused and had to rush him to the hospital that evening. After some intervention by the medical team, we were told he had a heart attack but it wasn't too severe. We spend 7days in the hospital for treatment and afterward we were discharged and placed on medications. He was also adviced to do mild exercises daily and to reduce fatty food and cholesterol intake.
