Today I am a part of a wonderful contest by @khursheedanwar known as ‘My Favourite Summer Fruit Nutritional Facts.’ This fun contest encourages the participants to research and share the nutritional values and other features of the preferred summer fruits.

In my opinion, the best fruit of the summer is mango I simply do not think that there could be a better fruit for the summer. They can be enjoyed and at the same time afford a number of nutrients that have a positive effect on the human body.

Fresh, juicy, and succulent mangoes are not just the kings of the summer season but are royals in terms of nutrients also. Each time I think of mangoes, or even talk about them, I can almost describe their taste as juicy sweetness within me while the sun was warm. However, besides its great taste, mangoes have the following benefits for our health.

First, I want to share some words about vitamins. Mangoes have a pro-vitamin A, per serving and these fruits are packed with vitamin C, good for our immune systems. This tasty fruit can contain up to 70% of the day’s needed vitamin C to help us fight those summer colds and get healthy skin. Not to mention; the higher amounts of vitamin A, which is good for our eyes and the glowing skin. It's as if Mother Nature is giving us a beauty and wellness service.

Mangoes also contain dietary fiber which helps to detoxify and also ensures that the gut does not clog up. This makes them to fit well to act as snacks and help us remain light and comfortable during these hot seasons. In addition, they are sources of some antioxidants like quercetin and astragalin which assist in eliminating the radicals that affect the cells.

As for me, one of the most attractive sides of mangoes is the option of application. It is possible to eat them raw, mix them into juices or smoothies, or use them in preparing other dishes. Every bite is an escape to pure sunshine and sand but with a healthy dose of potassium, magnesium, and B vitamins thrown into the mix.

In other words, mangoes go beyond being my best-loved summer fruit because they taste good but also because they are good for health. Next time you take a bite of a juicy slice of mango, it is good to know that this sweet fruit reciprocates the feeling with every bite.
