What made it your worst hospital visit?

My worst trip to the hospital was that day when I took my mother to the hospital with my brothers. While talking till 8:00 pm, she suddenly had a brain hemorrhage and paralysis attack and I got a call. I too immediately reached the doctor's, but the private doctor where my mother was being treated refused to touch such a critical case and said to take her to the trauma center immediately.

Mummy's condition was very bad, she was not recognizing anyone. So we took her to the trauma center. This is a government hospital, doctors do not touch a patient without a stretcher and it is so crowded that it was very difficult to get a stretcher there.

With great difficulty my younger brother brought a strecher, then we laid mummy on it. After a while the doctor came for rounds to see her, at that time I was very restless, nervous, angry. Because immediate treatment was needed at this time and the doctor would come only after taking his full time. This was my worst experience in the hospital. That day my mother's shadow went away from my head and despite her being there, I felt like an orphan.

How were you treated by the hospital staff?

Being a government hospital, the facilities there were very less. We had to stand in line for everything, no one listened to anything there. Our patient needed immediate treatment, medicines and many other things like urine pipe, syringe, food pipe, glucose to be administered, but their staff was not cooperating with all this.

I remember an incident of the night, there were many doctors there, but there was a 24 year old girl there, she was such a rude doctor. Now she had become a doctor or was studying, "I don't know" but she was shouting a lot at all her junior doctors. I and my brother still remember that incident, how rudely they were behaving with the patient, the patient's family, their staff. Because of her shouting, we did not have the courage to ask her anything. When doctors are cooperative, the patient and the patient's family feel quite relaxed.

Any specific challenges you faced?

When suddenly such a problem arises and one has to go to the hospital, a middle class family has to face many challenges. It loses its pocket as well as its courage.

Only me and my two brothers stayed with my mother the whole night. My mother was on the stretcher the whole night. I had to change her clothes, but I was unable to do so alone, because she was thrashing her hands and legs so much. She was concerned about her body but not about her children, that her children were remembering her. She had lost her memory, the whole night passed in the hope that she will be alright now. She will speak now, we will recognize her. But alas, she did not speak, she left us all alone in this world after 3 months.

How did you feel during and after the experience?

During this experience, the truth of the government emergency ward is revealed. How a family loses a family member, how does it feel. Doctors don't care about your emotions. It was a dark night for all of us and it has been 6 years now. But every moment of it is etched in our eyes, we will never forget that dark night.

When Mummy left us all alone, it felt like all the relationships had suddenly become alien. Not Mummy, not Papa. No one can take the place of parents in this world. People think that they will forget with age, but they can't. I just don't express my feelings in front of everyone because it won't help, but not a single day goes by when I don't remember my parents.

I have a lot of memories of them, I love my parents a lot.

Hola querida
Es cierto lo que dices, los hospitales de ente público suelen estar llenos de carencias que hace incluso imposible que se atiendan todos a la vez, lamento mucho la situación que tuvo que pasar tu madre!
