Having seen today the contest Contest alert!//Healthy fats organized by Dear @khursheedanwa and having read its essence I liked the beginning of the description of the contest where it talks about the honesty of the story about the use of certain fats in our lives.
This may sound strange to someone but the topic of fats is very delicate, fragile and may not please everyone especially if some type of fat is a taboo topic in their country.
But that is the point of honesty we live in a big, but very small world where different cultures and religions come into contact with each other although they want to keep a certain distance.
I do not want to offend anyone with my post this is just the truth of life and I will not write lies.
For me personally as a person who loves to eat well and is not a nutritionist it is not easy to talk about some useful properties of amino acids that are contained in any fat I can only speak from the position of a person who likes or does not like to eat some kind of fat.
Probably the quality of a particular fat plays an important role in this issue be it vegetable or animal fat.
My gallbladder responds positively or negatively to the quality of fat it is a fat quality detector lol.
But in the early nineties during the economic and political crisis everyone bought the Syrian Rama margarine which consisted of incomprehensible components and humanity did not die out.
I was born and raised in Moldova where livestock farming is very developed and one can say that I was fed on the right fats, sheep products and dairy products of cattle.
Cow sheep and goat cheese have always been on our table it is always tasty and satisfying differs in taste by the degree of aging.
Cheeses from the Gouda series of any manufacturer have also always been popular in our family but everything has its time as they say it is nice to remember many things lol.
If we talk about fats of animal origin then sheep fat in meat dishes is excellent and in case of a cold pneumonia and frostbite rubbing with sheep fat can cure.
Today, the most accessible fat is pork fat because pig farming is widespread in the country where I now live and sometimes this is the best option in terms of solving food issues if you do not want to buy sausage for example of unknown quality.
You can cook many dishes with pork fat you can smoke it salt it for future use and this is a wide range of options using different spices and garlic.
Yes this is not kosher food and you can read a lot about the benefits and harms of this type of fat but between palm oil and pork fat I will choose the latter.
You can not underestimate the energy value of this product which quickly saturates the body and fishermen who love winter fishing and can freeze know well that a piece of fat eaten immediately adds strength and warms the body.
Be that as it may, a natural product is not a derivative of a chemical process with an incomprehensible derivative in usefulness which they sometimes try to convince us of and I will always give preference to natural fats.
As illustrations to this post I used my drawings and photos of the process of salting lard in spices.
As for my opinion on healthy and unhealthy fats, my list will be as follows:
Healthy fats:
- Fats from sheep dairy products,
- Fats from goat dairy products,
- Fats from cow dairy products,
- Fats from sheep meat.
Unhealthy fats:
- Palm oil,
- Soybean oil,
- Some types of sunflower oil,
- Some types of corn oil.
If you generalize all this, the main thing is not to overeat fats lol.
