In layman's terms, heat rashes are the small reddish bumps that come out from a human skin because of too much heat.

Medically heat rashes are the process in which our eccrine sweat glands are blocked by excessive sweat which results in the backflow of the sweat into the skin which leads to rashes and these rashes are filled with sweat vesicles under the skin.

Skin rashes are also known as eccrine miliaria, sweat rashes, summer rashes, wildfire rashes, and prickling heat. It affects everybody when there is too much heat in the environment which causes discomfort. But in most cases, it affects people who are overweight, obese, or people who sweat too much, then newborn babies are prone to it too.

These small bumps caused by heat are called papules, They cause a prickling sensation which makes the person affected scratch it often, it is hard to see on people with darker skin.
Areas that these sweat rashes are likely to affect are the neck, face, under the breast, and the scrotum. It also affects areas where the clothes rubs the skin.

TYPES OF HEAT RASHES

We have three types of heat rashes, these are;

1. Miliaria Crystalline: This type of rash is common among babies, it affects newborns more than adults, it is not painful, and it causes clear small bumps that are filled with sweat to cover the skin which does not itch or cause pains.

2. Miliaria Rubra: In this type of rash the bumps are filled with pus which is called miliaria pustulosa. It causes inflammation in the affected area and lack of sweat too which makes it more uncomfortable.

3. Military Profunda: This type is not common, but if it occurs, it has the possibility of reoccurring and this time more chronic, it causes tough and flesh-colored rashes which are sometimes very large.
