Greetings! I hope everyone here is doing well and enjoying their life with family and friends by the grace of Allah Almighty. Today I'm here to take part in the contest organised by brother @khursheedanwar. As summer in Pakistan is starting this is the right time to conduct such contest to spread awareness through posts about "Dehydration". So let's start it!
1)In which season you are more prone to get victim of dehydration? |

Dehydration means your body loses more fluid than it took in. It occurs when you drink not enough water or fluid like juices than body requirement. If we don't treat it in time, we get dehydrated in couple of minutes or hours depending on a person.
Dehydration is more likely to occur during hot season like in summer. It is the time when weather is warm and hot, your body sweats and the fluid inside your body starts to come out from the small pores of body. Most of the times people don't know how much water they are losing through sweat and if we don't drink more water, then dehydration can occur.
So in summer time, it is very important to drink at least 12 glasses of water and if possible 2-3 glass of different juices throughout the day. And if you are playing outside like cricket, football, tennis or any outdoor activity then you need to a lot of water as more water lose through sweat. Whenever you feel thristy, just drink water and not waste time.
2)With what symptoms dehydration appears in a person and tell me primary steps to treat dehydration? |

The symptoms of dehydration that appears in a person are feeling thristy, having dry mouth or sticky saliva, urinate less than usual and dark yellow color urine that cause pain when you go washroom, weak or rapid pulse depending on person, dizziness, and headache. Some people will have weak pulse and some will have rapid pulse. If you notice any of these signs in summer after sweat then take it seriously and drink a lot of water and stay in cool place.
To treat dehydration following are primary steps:
1. First is to stay in cool place.
2. Drink a lot of water and juices. Drink in intervals.
3. If dehydration is worse then consume electrolyte-rich drinks.
4. Avoid sugary drinks that have a lot of sugar as it worse dehydration.
5. Eat hydrated fruits like watermelon, melon, pineapple, oranges, grapefruit etc.
6. Buy and drink rehydration solutions from pharmacy like ORS, Cac1000, Calcee etc.
These are some steps to cover dehydration within few hours. If your dehydration gets worse that can't be treated at home then it is highly recommended to go to hospital as soon as possible.
3)With which level of severity dehydrated patient may appear?(Share a real scenerio) |

Dehydration can range from mild to severe, depending on how much water your body has lost. In mild cases, body lose almost 5% body weight in infants and 3% in adults. In mild case we feel a little thristy and urine gets a little darker in color. It happens to all of us in summer that is the real case scenerio we can take.
In moderate case about 10% of body weight lose in infants and 5-6% in adults. It happened with my sister's kids my nephew. They got ill and loss motion starts which result in dehydration and the worst thing was they were not drinking or eating anything. It was tough time for all of us because my sister was in my house. My nephew lose almost 3-4kg of weight in 3 days and we were very worried but Thanks to Allah one medicine give positive result and they are good now.
In severe case, infants lose 15% of weight and 7-9% adults. It is the worse case when mostly infants or kids of 2-5 years lose a lot of weight and some lose consciousness. Not only infants or kids, but adults gets unconscious. It never happened in my family and I pray that it will never happen in the future Ameen.

I appreciate your illuminating me with such treasurable information about dehydration especially in the summer season of Pakistan. Your comprehensive description of symptoms and cure methods is quite instructive as it stressed the necessity to keep hydrated. This problem should be availed of more awareness on this matter so that people can lead a better life. All the best in the competition.
