Introduction

An apple a day keeps the doctor away
This is a saying that doctors, teachers, parents rings in the ears of children and patients. It is not entirely true as there are a variety of diseases that apples cannot cure but the addition of apples to our daily consumption can help prevent the risk of certain diseases and health problems.
Including apples to our diet coupled with exercise , eating a balanced diet with regular water intake is a great assurable way of keeping the doctor away.
To be honest I don't really eat apples on a regular basis right from time and so far so good I rarely and I mean rarely fall ill and this is the work of eating a variety of fruits which my mum so loved to turn into smoothies, as well as eating healthily i.e a balanced diet, then gyming as well is a well loved sport by me and also I'm a fan of regular water intake. All these health safety practices is what has been and is still keeping me stable and healthy.

Have you ever heard this saying before? What do you think it means?

Yes, quite a lot of times in fact. We even sang it as a rhyme back in primary school. It emphasizes regular apple intake and educates us on the different health benefits of apples in order for us to avoid visiting the hospital regularly. Some of these benefits include :

  • Regular apple intake reduces the risk of experiencing high blood pressure .
*Also it lowers cholesterol which prevents the risks of heart diseases
*Regular apple intake provides the body with a good amount of fibre.

These above points are according to @health.cleavelandclinic.org .
I think with these few points of mine I
have given the reader an insight of the meaning of the quote which states that "an apple a day keeps the doctor away".

Do you think eating an apple every day can really keep the doctor away? Why or why not?

Eating apples alone and thinking you are doing the right thing is a fool man's play but apples coupled with other diets like I said earlier is a good way of keeping the doctor away. Sides the saying doesn't mean apples should be the only fruit that should be taken , it means an inclusive of apple in our everyday routine is an assured way of keeping the doctor away. So I guess that answers the question.

What are some other healthy habits or foods that you think can help us stay healthy?

Well I don't know about others'choices. What they might place on the top of their list might be #5 on mine so I'm going to list the healthy foods I personally love taking . So mine are taking smoothies regularly, regular intake of milk , eating nuts, avocado pear, wheat foods, there is a cereal my friend introduced me to , she calls it squash and it is a mixture of sorghum, wheat, soya milk, guinea corn, barley, and all these products are blended into a powdery form to make up the squash . It is absolutely delicious and reminds me of a particular baby food that I can't remember the name of. A particular healthy habit I don't joke with is regular exercise, I want to encourage everyone to include it their routine. So I guess that's it.

What are some health benefits from eating Apples.

I mentioned some earlier and said they include lowering cholesterol present in the body which helps preventing the risks of heart diseases , also regular apple intake helps in reducing the risks of asthma, it is also said that apples help in weight loss, and it helps in supplying the body with a sufficient amount of calorie. There are lots more to learn about the benefits of apples because the benefits are numerous.

If you were to create your own saying about a different fruit or vegetable, what would it be and why?

If I were to, it would be about bananas because I'm a lover of bananas. Back then when I was at home before I gained admission my daddy had an admirable love for fruits and I guess I got that from him . I would combine all different sorts of fruit and try out different experiments. My most successful experiment was one I called "banana whipped cream" which I made by blending overripe banana till it formed a smooth creamy mixture and then I add an almost thick combination of evaporated and powdered milk together with a sachet of chocolate powder. Then I spread cashew nuts as the toppings, and my banana whipped cream is ready to go . It took a lot of convincing to get my family to taste it but once they did they fell in love. So my saying /quote about bananas goes thus "a slice of banana, a slice of goodness" . That must sound quack but it's the best I can think of now .
