How often do you eat fast food, and why?
What are your favorite fast Foods? Tell us about them.
Though I eat fast foods once in a while, I still have my favourites amongst them. Examples are Ice creams, suya, chips, sharwama, roasted chicken, soft drinks, pizza,etc. Suya is a meat that is smoked and sold to the public. It tastes very delicious and I enjoy it so much especially with a chilled drink.
What do you think are the biggest health risks associated with fast food?
• Fast foods can lead to obesity due to the fat contained in it.
• It can lead to cancer, diabetes or other heart diseases.
• It can lead to constipation and bloating.
• Eating too much of fast foods can lead to kidney disease
Do you believe fast food can be made healthier? If yes, how?
Yes, it's possible for fast foods to be made healthier and that is by reducing the amount of sugar and salt in it and adding Vegetables. But this doesn't apply to all fast foods because you can't add Vegetables to ice cream but you could reduce the quantities of sugar in ice cream, so I believe if healthier nutrients are added to fast foods, it could be healthier for people.
HOW TO BALANCE YOUR INTAKE OF FAST FOODS
• Except for energy purpose, instead of taking that carbonated drink, take water, it's more healthy.
• Eating at home or going out with home made food mat reduce your cravings or appetite for fast food when hungry.
• You can decide to replace pizza or shawarma with fresh fruit or fruit salad, this might help reduce your intake of sugar and fats.
• Instead of buying ice cream outside, you can make one at home with low sugar.
• Start cutting down slowly on your fast food intake. Instead of five times a week, try to limit it to three times, then two until you finally stop.
