INTRODUCTION
Dear diary, it's another day for me to ponder on my health and how I handled it, despite the stress of life because I know of I don't take care of my health, my health will take care of me by making me end up in the hospital. But first of all, let me appreciate
@aaliarubub for this contest that will help us learn from each other.
MORNING ACTIVITIES
I woke up by 6am in the morning and did the most important thing which was kneeling down to thank God and commit the day into God's hands. Then I went about my morning chores. Since some students are on break whole the exams classes is still going on, I decided to bathe and go to school. But I had to eat first and take my medicines. A week ago, I had symptoms of malaria, though I didn't go for test, I just bought antimalarial drugs and took, but since it didn't work, I went and reported at the pharmacy and I was asked to take typhoid drugs, so I bought it at the price of 2,800 naira, that is equivalent to the price of 7 Steem. I hate taking drugs but I had no choice than to take it so that I'll be fine. But before I took it, I took my breakfast which was made up of milk, bread and fried eggs. Apart from eating breakfast so I can take my medication, it is believed that breakfast helps fuel the energy for the day and so, since I would be spending hours teaching, I needed to take something that will support me till afternoon.
My breakfast.
The typhoid drugs and water
Then I went to school by 8:30am where I taught for hours. We closed by 2pm.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES
I had worked under the sun, to and back from school. In my own way, that was my own exercise so I didn't do any other exercise. It is said that trekking improves the overall health of the body. It helps build stronger muscles and lowers risk of health problems. Tho when I reached the house, I was exhausted. It's not really easy to trek after talking and shouting hours with students. So the first thing I did was bath which made me feel refreshed, then since there was fruit in the house, pawpaw precisely, I peeled the fruit and then ate half of it. That kept me for a while tho I had the fear if it will tamper with the malaria drugs I took since it is said that one isn't supposed to take vitamin c or any fruit at all while taking malaria or typhoid drugs.
The pawpaw was sweet and refreshing
When I had rested for a while, I decided to eat real food but I also noticed that I was stressed and was feeling dizzy and also difficult to breath. So I ate fufu and okra soup for lunch and thereafter, took multivitamin and also salbutamol which will help free my lungs and help me breath better. Immediately I took it, within 20 minutes, I felt better. And then I decided to rest for a while by sleeping.
My lunch
I took enough water
The drugs I took to relieve me.
It is said that water is very good for the body. Since this is harmattan period, I'm always dehydrated so I need to drink enough water to stay cool and hydrated.
EVENING ACTIVITIES
I felt better when I woke up because I had rested and rest is very good for the body. I then decided to look for what to eat as my dinner. Since I had eaten a heavy good as lunch, I decided to take something light as dinner and I made pap and ate. Though when I think of all the food I took for the day, I realized that apart from the fruit which is vitamin and water, my main food for the day was made up of carbohydrates but thankfully, for the soup I ate, I added enough leaves which gives minerals.
HOW I RELAXED AT THE END OF THE DAY
All work and no play makes jack a dull boy, so after everything, I relaxed at the end of the day by watching a movie on my phone. Watching a movie takes my mind off so many things.
DISCOVERY ABOUT MY DAY AND MY HEALTH
One major thing I discovered about my day and my health was that if I don't take care of my health because of work, there will come a time I won't be able to work because of my health. I also realized that the dizziness I felt was due to stress so apart from taking multivitamin, I needed to rest and the afternoon nap made me feel so refreshed. Also, eating the right food made me stronger. I really felt dehydrated especially during this harmattan period but drinking the right quantity of water solved that. We can avoid spending money on drugs if we eat healthy and live right.
