Today, there is no remedy for the majority of dementia types if not for the early stages, but there are available treatments that can improve signs or halt deterioration. Some drugs useful in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease include cholinesterase inhibitors which include donepezil, rivastigmine and memantine. Cognitive therapies, physical activities and supportive tertiary services are recommended to have a positive impact on quality of life.. Encouraging environment, habit, and social contacts are other components of treatment for dementia as well.

In conclusion, early diagnosis and a comprehensive care plan can help those living with dementia and their families manage the challenges posed by this condition.
