Do you know what periodontal disease is?
Periodontal diseases are often referred to as Gum diseases because they occur around the tooth, much like a silent assassin with extremely destructive potential. With the war still ongoing the gum pull back, teeth become loose, and if not well attended you might even lose the case of the battling all together and suffer the loss of teeth. Therefore, you should make sure you brush your teeth and rinse your mouth every day, and use a dental floss every day too so that this sneaky enemy does not get a chance to harm your valuable asset- your teeth.

Periodontal disease, is mainly attributed to improper hygiene and care of the mouth which includes irregular brush and rinse, deposition of plaque and tartar on the teeth and other causes of periodontal disease include cigarettes and other tobacco products which slows down the body’s ability to resist infection and a family history of the disease.

Can you tell us how periodontal disease is classified?
Periodontal disease may be best described by its stage and this depends with the severity of the condition.
Mild Periodontitis: There may be little to no bone loss around the teeth; however, the gums begin to pull away from the teeth, creating pocket spaces.
German Periodontitis: In this stage, there is moderate bone loss around the teeth, and the gums recede further, forming pockets more than two millimeters in depth.
