Share how you should care your wound in case it is deep

Proper care for a deep wound is important to prevent infection and promote healing and here are some steps to manage the wound effectively:

Stop the Bleeding

Make sure that pressure applied by cloth or gauze is firm and keep it for 10-15minutes.

And if the bleeding still continues the area should be elevated above the level of the heart.

Clean the Wound

First wash of the wound with clean warm water to remove any dirt and small particles that may be in the flesh.

It is important NOT to use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol as it will actually do more harm and hinder the healing process.

Disinfect the Area

An antiseptic solution or ointment will work best when it comes to ridding the boils of bacteria.

Also it should make sure that there is no external contamination within the skin areas that are surrounding it.

Protect the Wound

This should be done to prevent it from coming into contact with bacteria and dirt, apply a sterile non-stick dressing or bandage.

With large wounds the dressing must be securely fixed but not tightly soiled.

Monitor for Infection

Therefore, the following signs that mean infection has set in should be looked out for redness, swelling, hotness, pus and increased pain.

In case any of these symptoms develop, the patient should visit a healthcare practitioner as soon as possible.

Keep It Moist and Covered

If possible change them at least once a day or even more frequently if needed.

Better coverage of the antibiotic used is to apply a thin layer of the ointment to keep the wound moist so that the healing process takes less time.

Seek Medical Attention

Accidents like deep wounds, rough cuts, or cuts that have been made by something dirty or rusty must be treated by a doctor.

Get Your Tetanus Vaccination Up to Date

If the wound has been produced by a rusty object, the tetanus shot should be updated.
