Say goodbye to medications

Introduction

When talking about medication, we have two types of medication. Those are the medical and orthodox medications. I'd love to direct my writing to medical medicine. Medications are necessary because people need them to get healed or relieved from sicknesses or manage a particular health condition. But medications are of great help to us, is that not so? Or what do you think? Do we really need to say goodbye to medication? Now let's find out.

Why there is a need to say goodbye to medicines?

My mother has had this excruciating pain that starts from her spinal cord down to her two feet for over three years now. She has taken every known medication both medically and traditionally recommended, yet none seems to cure her or give her deep relief from the pains she has been going through for years now.

So, she relies basically on some painkillers to relieve her of the pains when it gets excruciating. Has that really helped her? Hell no. That just gives her relief for a moment and while the pain continues for a long time.

From last year, she has complained bitterly about this sudden serious pain in her stomach that makes her feel really restless. Low, my mother was said to have ulcers due to too much regular intake of these painkillers to relieve her of the pains.

Also, I gave my daughter certain antibiotics almost a year ago when she was about 8 months old. This medication led to something else. My child's caregiver at school called to inform me of a discharge coming out of her ears. It was devastating, so to say, that came as a result of the medication I gave to heal her, it then turned into a severe health problem which led to extra spending.

Moreover, a friend of mine who is also a steemian @realitytrend shared a story of how her close relative gave a certain medication to her child which made the child develop some liver problems. That actually led to the death of the child because the liver failure was diagnosed at the very wrong time when the boy's livers had already gone bad.

You see, it's great that medication heals and relieves pains, but its adverse effects on people due to wrong usages or prolonged use can result in really negative experiences that may cause death. That's the reason I opt that people should really say goodbye to medication.

How can we prevent ourselves from medications?

Since there are different reasons as to why people take medication, there are also different ways to prevent ourselves from medication. Note, we're talking about medical medication.

  • Maintaining good hygiene by keeping yourselves and your surroundings clean. This can prevent some certain sicknesses from us which may cause people to seek to get medication. Such could be malaria, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, intestinal worms, etc.

  • Consumption of nutritious meals, fruits and veggies. For example, I am a mushroom farmer. Research has it that consumption of mushrooms can cure or help in the management of certain sicknesses such as high blood pressure, reduces sugar levels and also kills some cancerous cells and many others.

  • The use of orthodox medicine. In Nigeria, where I'm from, many people believe in the use of traditional medicines for relief or cure of some ailments instead of taking some toxic chemicals in the form of drugs that may end up affecting people's health. The roots, leaves or stems of plants could be taken as tea or as an enema in order to heal or prevent sickness. See the process of using enema here

  • Embracing a healthy lifestyle such as exercising. Exercise helps to boost the immune system that helps in the fight against some certain infections in the body.

Though medications are meant to cure or manage some health conditions, people should be careful overdose and wrong usages of medications that lead to developing more serious health condition.
