Health is said to be wealth, research shows that billions of dollars have been spent daily on health care, and other thousands of millions are spent every day to take care of health needs, looks like people are becoming health conscious more than ever before. But with all this, I've observed that people now are not healthier than people in previous generations, the Billions paid For have not resulted in physical-well being for most, meaning something is missing, and what could that be? let's find out.
Our health reflects the sum total of our lifestyle and our day-to-day habits, good health involves a balanced way of life that results in our mental, emotional, physical and social well-being, this enables us to cope with our environment and derive reasonable joy and satisfaction from daily activities. In as much as we try to do things that contribute to good health we should as well avoid those things that tear it down.
What Do You Eat To Stay Healthy? How Can You Improve Your Diet? |

I believe a healthy lifestyle start from the food we eat, it's garbage in garbage out, yes we are what we eat, so I normally make sure to eat healthy all the time, I cut down on my sugar, salt, fat, and alcohol intake and any food that is high in cholesterol. I usually eat more fibre, fruits and vegetables, and some spices and herbs. I cut my intake of processed food, I love fresh and organic right from the farm or garden and I used to drink enough water.
More to these I make sure I prepared my food safely and also preserve them well, I normally keep my kitchen and utensils clean to avoid contamination and food poisoning, I also avoid overeating, that your eating healthy doesn't mean you should overindulge in it, it's bad and unhealthy, so portion control helped me, I eat bit by bit and take more fruits and vegetables and enough water, and I don't eat foods after 7 pm.

Hmmm I've tried my best in this area but not very well, at least I know I used to sleep up to 5 - 6 hours a day, not too bad but it's not supposed to be like this, I meant it should be 8 hrs a day, but so many factors contributed to this, I'm a nursing mother and my baby used to wake at least 3 times per night, and I have to breastfeed, or sometimes feed her and put her to sleep again, and before I could fall back to sleep she will wake again, disrupting my sleep. But it's okay that's motherhood for me, very soon it will be over and I hope to improve.
I think I can improve my sleeping patterns by always seizing an opportunity to have short naps, but this will be possible after the school holiday, and I will sleep when my baby sleep.

I love exercising regularly, and aerobics dance is my favourite, yoga and stretching. This exercise helps me to burn calories daily and to remain physically fit, to fight against low self-esteem, stress, overweight and raise my endurance. It contributes to my physical, mental and emotional well-being, it used to help me recover quickly from illness haha you know the physically fit body does not likely to succumb to ailments and lastly it helps in slowing down the effect of ageing.

Our Mental Health is as important as our physical health so I do take very good care of it too. I used to meditate every day and try to avoid emotions like envy, hatred, resentment, sorrow and fear. These things are responsible for the majority of sicknesses so I tried to avoid them. I always try to be calm and cheerful avoiding anger and jealousy because they're rotten to the bone.
For me there's no room for negative vibes, like screaming, anger, bitterness, wrath or abusive speech along with all kinds of badness, no I've put them far away from me, positive vibes only, yes I've learned to control my emotions and feelings not acting on them and these have been helping me to be happy and maintain a peaceful healthy relationship with others. These are 4 ways I tried to remain healthy until a time when no one will say I am Sick is here.

It is true that we are not more sustainable than previous generations. Food affects people's health but now we prefer and eat most of the unhealthy foods which put our health at risk. You are very health conscious you exercise regularly and try to get enough sleep to stay healthy. Good luck to you

As a nursing mother I don't think it's possible to sleep well without waking up at night to check up on your child even when they don't disturb you.
