Hi friends.. how are you doing today? Hope you and your family is doing great.. In today's discussion, we will be talking about hereditary diseases. Let's begin;

Did you know that many diseases are hereditary?

Firstly, let's get to know the meaning of hereditary diseases. In my words, Hereditary diseases are genetic disorders that is being inherited genetically. These diseases are passed on from one generation to another through the defective genes. Most of the diseases and sickness people are suffering from now are as a result of hereditary diseases. Globally, many diseases in the world are inherited and that makes it going from one to another. Some of these hereditary diseases include; Cancer, diabetes, asthma, alzheimer, arthritis, trisomy, convulsion, etc.

What are the diseases that have been triggered in your family or friends circle?

In my family, I don't think we have any hereditary diseases, because if there is, I would have gotten the symptoms. In my home, every end of the month,and we do go for checkups. All the time I go to the clinic, the doctor do say am okay and see nothing wrong with me. But, I do have a friend of mine whose family genetic disorders is convulsion.

The name of this my friend is Favour. She has been my childhood friend and we attended the same school and church. Her own symptoms started showing up when she was still 7 years. Anytime we come to church, when the service will be going on she will start shaking and bringing out white substances from her mouth. The church will start praying for her and soonest, it will stop. This disease triggered very well in her family and I do pity for her and also pray on her behalf.😢

Do you take health forecasts regarding these diseases?

Before one gets into marriage, you should check your partner well by going for checkups. It is due to we don't go for health forecasts, that is why people keep on making mistakes about these genetic diseases. Genetic test are done using blood or spit sample and it is through the result that you will know if you have a genetic disorders. Many genetic disorders does not manifest itself until adolescent or adult age.

Can hereditary diseases be cured?

Hereditary diseases can be cured depending on how strong the disease is. Some of these diseases are mostly from the gene changes that are present in the body cell. The amount of hereditary diseases that are incurable is greater than the ones curable. These diseases have devastating consequences for the people who inherit them. According to the scientists, genetic disorders can be treated through the means of genes editing. The process of this is the sections of a person's DNA which are altered. So, in conclusion hereditary diseases is not what we can avoid, because it's from the genes you carry.
