           INTRODUCTION

Goodday steemians family, i want to thank the organizers of this contest with this inspiring topic that says "Breaking Bad Habits". i wish myself and all other steemians good luck in this contest as i join in participating.

What is bad habit

A bad habit is a behaviour or actions that is repeatedly done and can have a negative consequences. Though some bad habit are harmless and some have a long-term negative impact.

Getting to the hints question

What are some bad habits that are hard to stop, and why is it tough to quit them?

A bad habit that is hard to stop are those ones obtained at immature age which a person is not capable of getting rid of it. These habits can cause a damage to his or her existence, loss of potentials and motivation, premature aging of the body and other various kinds of diseases.

•Smoking
•Drugs Addicts
•Excessive Drinking
•Excessive Eating Habit(Glutton)
•Laxiness
These are, but few bad habits i can talk about.
The reason these habits are tough to quit is because, overtime it has become an addiction.
People that are addicted to smoking can't stay without smoking drugs for a day. Drug addicts are worse, their body shakes without the intake of those hard drugs in a day.

How can we tell if a habit is just a habit or if it's more like an addiction? And what can we do to break them?

A bad habit is a habit if and only if you can control it. Craving for a drink is an habit, because it comes once in a while. Anything you do not do excessively is an habit. Anything you do, and it does not bring a negative effect on yourself or to another person is an habit. When you crave for a bottle of beer, and there's no food at home for your family to eat, when you are able to leave what you crave for and make necessary provision at home, i can say that you only have a habit of drinking and not addiction.

Addiction is when you loose concentration and you don't have control over cravings, behaviour or actions. I once had a customer that came with two of his friends to buy a phone. I noticed they were not concentrating when i was telling them the specifications of the phones, and i was wondering what is distracting them. In 15mins of choosing a phone, two of them couldn't control their habit. They went outside to smoke cigarette. This habit is called addiction.

What are some challenges that people might face when trying to quit bad habits, and how can they overcome them?

Challenges people face when trying to quit bad habits are

Peer pressure: peer pressure hinders someone from quitting a bad habit especially if you were depending and benefitting on them for some certain things. They will threaten to cut you off from those benefits you get from them.

You can overcome them by cutting friendship off from people that are influencing you.

Environment: When you stay in an environment that all sort of bad habits are practiced in every corner of the street, it will be very hard to quit. What you are trying to quit from is always starring at you. Decision to quit cannot be taken in such an environment.

You can overcome them by leaving the environment that will not aid to your decision making.

Procrastination: Procrastination is a thief. Everytime you procastinate, i will do it, i want to do it, that's how you keep postponing untill something important passes you by, because you will end up not doing that thing. If you must quit a bad habits, you need to act on it and not just saying it.

How can we support and encourage others to quit their bad habits without being judgmental or pushy?

For me the only way i can support and encourage people with bad habit is by;

•Leading them to God: Tell them about God and what He loves and what He does not love His children to do. Do not condemn them in the process of telling them. You can tell them stories of people that lived that kind of life, how they ended their life in misery.

•Healthy Living: For those that are smoking, drug addicts and the ones drinking excessively. Tell them the benefits of living healthy and the cause of sickness they might encounter if they continue in the bad habit. Tell them that the write up in that packet of cigarettes " Smokers are liable to die young" is true.
