Good day my fellow steemians, so @afzalqamar brought us a brainstorming contest on Kidney Disease, stay with me let me also air my understanding on this topic.
What Do You Know About Kidney Disease
Kidney as we all know is an internal part of our body that is responsible for filtering blood, so in a case where there is kidney Disease, this implies that the kidney is damaged and unable to filter properly. Which kidney malfunctions, they are unable to perform their assigned duty in the body thereby introducing other health related problems to the body system.
Additionally, When kidney are damaged, waste products in the body including fluid begins to build up. This action can cause swelling in the ankles, general body weakness and other related ailment in which if not being taken care of can eventually stop working and this could be life threatening.
Have You Or Someone You Know Ever Experienced Kidney-Related Issues?
Just last month, I saw a poster of someone's funeral, a you guy who's supposed to be my age mate, he is my friend's church member, and the last time I saw him, he was very sound and healthy and just for weeks later, I heard he died of kidney failure.
I was so restless throughout last week, I was contemplating how he would just die like that leaving his lovely wife and parents behind, the face I last saw kept ringing on my head and it wasn't just going off because I won't get to see this guy again and that's sad.
How Can We Prevent And Manage Kidney Disease?
To prevent kidney Disease, there are certain things to do and I will be stating them out here;
• Do not smoke
• Limiting alcohol intake
• Engage in stress reducing activities like yoga.
• Exercise on a daily.
• Eat balance diet food.
• Get enough rest/sleep.
These and many more are ways to prevent kidney disease.
Thent hear are ways to manage kidney disease;
• Get enough rest
• Try involve in exercise to reduce your weight.
• Try as much as possible to control blood pressure.
• Take medications as prescribed.
• Meat a dietitian to develop a good meal plan.
• Get enough sleep.
• Make sure to meet your blood glucose goal if you happen to have diabetes as well.
• Put measures in place to cope with depression and stress.
These and many more are ways to manage kidney disease.
In conclusion, being diagnosed of kidney disease isn't a dead sentence, people have been there and have gone through it then come out alive and healthy, stay positive and stick to your medication while hoping on a miracle, but do not involve in activities that will harm your kidney.
