We have that one character of combining food, I have seen the crazy combination like custard and garri, raw garri and Palm oil and the most common one is bread and mineral. Some of this food combination are those thing that pave way to diseases that can harm our body like this hemorrhoid we're about to discuss.

From this community I begin to have interest in medical field. I have learned a lot about health here, how to be healthy and more knowledge about those harmful activities that can harm our body.

When I first heard of hemorrhoid, I was like, do they launch another disease like Corona, but along the way, after some research, I come to realize that hemorrhoid is what we commonly know as pile. So In this article we're going to use pile instead of hemorrhoid because everybody is familiar with pile. In my state, Akwa ibom, we called it Udoño uwò ewun. In case you're still asking who I am, my name is @Mhizta from Nigeria, welcome to my blog.

I said earlier that another name for Hemorrhoid is pile. Now what is actually an hemorrhoid? Hemorrhoid or pile is a swollen blood veins or vessels that develop in the rectum or around the anus. How do it happen? when there's a lot of pressure in the blood veins, its gets inflamed or swollen, and when it gets inflamed or swollen, the person will experience a symptoms like pain, itching, and bleeding.

This pile or hemorrhoid is divided into 2 which is internal pile or hemorrhoid which lies inside the rectum and external pile or hemorrhoid, the one that lies outside the anus. Now that we know what pile or hemorrhoid is and different types of pile, let's explore the causes of hemorrhoid in our precious body.

I said it earlier that there are some activities we do that can cause harm to us but we're unaware. What are those things that causes pile or hemorrhoid? Let's find out:

• Straining during a bowel movement.
  straining is that moment you're in the toilet and you're trying to push out the unwanted material (feces).

Straining can cause increased pressure on the blood vessels in the rectum, which can lead to them becoming swollen.

• Constipation is also another causes of hemorrhoids.
  Constipation is that moment you're in the toilet and you're finding it so hard to remove the waste product from your body through anus.

Constipation is what makes the feces (waste product) to be harden and difficult to pass causing straining and pressure on the rectal blood vessels.

• Diarrhea too also have role to play in hemorrhoid because the frequent bowel movements can irritate and damage the blood vessels.

That position when you want to removed the waste substance from your body is called bowel movement.

• Pregnancy causes hemorrhoid due to the weight of the baby and the increased pressure on the blood vessels in the pelvis, which causes the blood vessels in the rectum to become swollen.

• Obesity can also cause hemorrhoids, because the increased weight and pressure on the blood vessels also lead to swelling.

• Prolonged sitting, especially on the toilet, can also causes hemorrhoids, take note, especially for those of you who like pressing phone in the toilet.

• Lifting heavy weight also contributed to it because it increases the pressure on the rectal blood vessels.

Common symptoms of hemorrhoids are pain, itching, and bleeding during bowel movements. Some times it's appears like a lump or swelling around the anus, which makes someone to be uncomfortable, but the goodnews is that it can be treated.

Yes, like I said, it can be treated. How?

• By Using creams, ointments, or suppositories because it will help to soothe the area and reduce the swelling and discomfort of hemorrhoids. If the symptoms are pain and itching, this cream is made with hydrocortisone, lidocaine, and witch hazel which is very effective to soothe the pain and itching caused by hemorrhoids.

• Another effective Way of treating pile or hemorrhoid is by practicing warm bath because it help to reduce swelling and pain.

• There's a stage whereby surgery is the only option, and there's 3 type of surgery for pile or hemorrhoid:
  ♦️ Rubber band ligation
  ♦️ Sclerotherapy
  ♦️ hemorrhoidectomy

♦️Rubber band ligation is when the small rubber band is place around the base of the hemorrhoid to cut off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid,with no blood supply, the hemorrhoid begin to shrink and fall off eventually.

♦️Sclerotherapy is a process whereby a chemical is being injected to the hemorrhoid which makes it harden and shrink.

♦️Hemorrhoidectomy is a final stage in surgery whereby the hemorrhoid is removed completely.

• Living a healthy lifestyle by eating food with high fiber because this type of food helped to make your bowel movements softer and easier to pass.

• Exercises is very important in fighting hemorrhoid because it keeps the muscles strong and healthy. When the muscles are strong, they support the veins, which help to prevent hemorrhoids.

I have not seen it in my naked eye before but I have read about how it's looks like. For example, sometimes it's depend on the sizes because there's one that is small, swollen bumps around the anus. There's even a condition whereby the hemorrhoid protrude from the anus.

To know how hemorrhoid looks like, it's being divided into 4 stages:
♦️ Grade I hemorrhoids where it very small and you can't see it outside the anus.
♦️ Grade II hemorrhoids where it's larger and protrude from the anus during bowel movement but return to their normal position on their own.
♦️ Grade III hemorrhoids where it protrude from the anus, but don't return to their normal position on their own.
♦️ Grade IV hemorrhoids where it very large and don't return to their normal position, even with manual repositioning. This one can only be treated through surgery.

Yes , it's was my Uncle. I dont know how it's happen because I was a kid. I was the favourite among my Uncle and they love me more than anything else. One of my uncle who was my dad junior brother was living with us, after some day he left to river side without informing anybody his whereabouts. He only told me about it before he left.

After like 3 years, that faithday, we went to Kingdom Hall for bible study and when we returned, we saw someone lying across the entrance, the sickness had changed his body, he was looking like a skeleton. He was taking to the hospital, after some week, because it was too late, he couldn't make it. That how he lost his life, he hide the sickness for long without telling anyone, it's was when the sickness became worse, the people from that side had to send him back. My people use to say Adip udoño akpa udoño (person wey dey hide sickness dey die for sickness).

That conclude our topic for today, remember that Living healthy lifestyle, exercising, and eating food high in fiber is way of preventing pile or hemorrhoid.
