Greetings everyone's.
what health issues have you noticed in your family members?
Well I will say is hypertension because my maternal grandparents have this this hypertension and diabetes because my aunty also have hypertension , so I don't usually tell my mom a bad news quickly . My dad's family don't have a serious health issue so is only my mom side.
As God may have it , it's doesn't come much and even without the drugs she can be alright , but my mom's sister is so addicted to it that if she did not take hypertension drugs it will be like she wants to die,I have tried educating her but she insisted.
So I always take good care of my health and I don't expect much from people or think too much to avoid being depressed.
How do you think knowing your family health history can help you?
family's health history is important because it helps doctors identify medical conditions that you may be at a higher risk . Knowing your family health history will save you a lot sickness and disease.
because when you know your family health history you will be able to know what to avoid and the consumption of every food and always go for medical check-up. It will increase your awareness this means that you will practice more of healthy habits and cleanliness .
Have you ever discussed health concerns with your family? What was that like?
source
Yes I have and it wasn't easy because the first time I said we will be having health talk know one came out ,so I announced it again before they are agreed .
so as I began to talk is said to my aunt's that she should stop taking much drug because of hypertension that those drugs are causing another problem to her at first she disagreed that the drugs is helping her not knowing she was addicted to it, I told her that my mom has high blood pressure but she doesn't take drugs that much why was her own case different .
So I started educating her on what to do to reduce it first I told her to exercise regularly because exercising burns fat and keep you in fit , manage stress this means trying relaxation, and take plenty of water, maintain healthy body and reduce sodium in take.
After educating her she find the gathering useful and she also thank me for coming up with such ideas and I also told my uncle that always complains about chest pain to stop smoking and engage in fruit and vegetables, so the discussion went well.
Do you think it's important to keep track of family health history? Why or why not?
Yes I think it important because it allows you to know more about your risk and what types of health issues goes on in the family for example heart disease and high blood pressure or high cholesterol level you will have to have to avoid much of thinking and sadness, then in high cholesterol level avoid much of oily food.
Always share with your doctor , Knowing your family medical history can truly help physicians have an idea of what sort of ailments you might be suffering from.
How can we encourage younger family members to learn about their health history?
Be friendly and always wear a smiling face to approach them don't be hard , bring your self down to their level make the discussion to interactive and accessible.
Be genuine share stories of your own experiences , and also speak in their own interest always show them how family health history is important to them and also embrace healthy living.
