Is pain a disease or symptom in body?

I feel that pain is a symptom which signals that something is about to happen to the body.

👩‍⚕️ Tell us about pain that you have last time? Was that pain systemic or musculoskeletal?

Have experienced pain so many times, the recent one was the tension headache I experienced last Year. Around November last year, I went to visit my sister at Uyo, Akwaibom State. A day after I visited her, I started experiencing headache, the headache was so severe that I couldn't do anything.

The pain affected my eyes, neck, ears and mouth. It was like someone was pounding something on my head. The pain affected my hearing too. I took so many medications, but it was like the more I took the drugs the more the situation worsens.

A doctor friend prescribed a particular drug for me and I felt relieved after taking the drug. The pain lasted for 7 days. It was the longest pain I have experienced. Tension headache is musculoskeletal pain.

👩‍⚕️ What you do in home for pain relief?(Tell a remedy or any medication that you do att that time)

There so many things to do to relieve pain at home, but it depends on where the person is feeling the pain. Some of the pains includes.

Headache

For headache, I recommend pain relief drugs like paracetamol, Ibuprofen and Diclofenac.

Take lots of water.

Take nap and rest because stress is one of the major causes of headache.

Stomach ache

Take lots of water.
For menstrual cramps, use warm water and cloth to massage your stomach,

Lay with your stomach.

Take pain relieving drugs like felvin, Diclofenac e.t.c.

Wound and cuts

Depending on the level of the wound or cut, use methylated spirit to clean it, then cover the wound and give the patient pain relieving drug.

Make sure the wound is dry to avoid getting it infected and causing more pain.

Take pain relieving drugs also.

Backache

For backache, relax your back for a while.

Massage it with an icepack.

Practice stretching

In conclusion, pains can be properly managed at home, but we should also know when to consult a doctor to avoid making it worse. Thanks for reading through.
