Eyes is one of the five sense organ of the body. It is the organ for sight/vision. It is very delicate and easily damaged. It is also connected to the brain.
What are some common eye care practices that you follow in your daily routine?
Eat fruits and Vegetables rich in Vitamin A
Eat fruits rich in Vitamin A such as, Orange, Carrot, Grape, Apples, Pawpaw, watermelon and Vegetables rich in Vitamin A like Pumpkin, Broccoli, Water leaf.
Cleanliness
I always wash my hands properly before touching my eyes.
Routine medical checkups
I also visit my Optician often for my eye checkup.
Reading good light
I also read with a bright light to avoid straining my eyes.
Wearing sunglasses
I also wear sunglasses whenever I'm under the sun, to prevent the harmful UV rays from penetrating my eyes.
Wearing anti-glare glasses
I also wear the anti-glare glasses whenever I'm working for long on my computer.
Have you ever experienced or have a relative who has experienced any eye-related issues or discomfort? How did you handle it?
Yes at a time, my mom suddenly started having eye problem. She was finding it hard to read due to age. During that time, an outreach was organized in her workplace and she attended. The organizers of the outreach promised them free eye checkups and glasses. A reading glasses was given to her but it became worse. Later, she went to a specialist hospital and a reading glasses was given to her by the Optician. She is good now.
Are there any specific foods or nutrients that you know are beneficial for maintaining good eye health?
Yes fruits rich in Vitamin A such as Orange, Carrot, Grape Apples and Banana are good for the eyes.
Vegetables like Lettuce, pumpkin, water leaf, Broccoli are also good for the sight.
Food rich in Omega-3 fatty acid like salmon fish, Sardines and Mackerels are good for the eye.

Wear anti-glare glasses
Wear anti-glare glasses when working if you work with the Computer and phones all the time.
Light
Always press your phones and Laptop in a lighted place.
Reducing brightness
Adjust your gadgets brightness to prevent the harmful UV rays from penetrating your eyes.
Increase your text size
To avoid straining your eyes, always increase the text size.
