Hi healthy people, It's a new week and it's a time for a new challenge, This week's challenge is to talk about sugar, yeah You're already thinking,

You idiot, we already know about sugar what else we wanna know,
Yeah you know how to eat sugar but do you know all the downsides of eating added sugars daily?

Noo right! yeah, that's what we gonna talk about today, Why eating sugar is worse for our health and what are the long-term effects of eating added sugars. We all are human and we know we all have some kind of bad habit that feels good every time we do that, eating sweet foods or eating foods with added sugars, or eating fast foods every day is also a bad habit. If you don't take action immediately you will die soon. No, I'm not kidding we need glucose for function in our body but taking too much sugar can cause obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancers like pancreas cancer, cholesterol, heart diseases, and soo many health problems.

How do we get sick by eating sugar?

Our body is an engine and this engine needs fuel to work 24x7 If we don't give enough fuel our body gets tired and starts to malfunction, That's why we eat food, food is the main energy source for our body. By eating food we provide calories to our body, so it can function properly but is all the food we eat good for our body? No, what happened you pumped diesel into a petrol car? yeah, that's what happens if we eat bad foods. So basically every food we eat contain calories but homemade foods, vegetable, and fruits contain soo many macronutrients and micronutrients which are carbohydrates, good fats, protein, and micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and so many other things.

But when we eat processed foods like Maggi or cookies and fast foods like burgers and fries we get unhealthy amounts of carbs, bad fats, food preservatives, and soo much-added sugars. For example, a normal 1 liter Coke contains at least 108g of sugar which is equal to 400 calories. So think, if an average person who is doing a desk job needs around 2000 calories per day for functions of his body and If he eats one burger and a large fries and a coke for lunch he gets at least 1500 bad calories. So at the end of the day, his body stores all the excess calories as fat because our body converts all the food we eat to glucose which is how our body gets energy to function.

So when it comes to sugary foods, they are made from sucrose which is a form of glucose, so when we eat chocolate or when we drink a Coke or an energy drink all we do is eat and drink straight glucose but we don't care because it's tastes good. Some people say chocolate is their comfort food but the problem is they are getting too comfortable around chocolate and chocolate causes so much discomfort to them in the future.

Do I know how much sugar I consume per day?

Actually, I don't eat much sugar but If I eat something Yes I will look for how much sugar this food contains and how many calories I will get from this.

Do I have a family member who has problems with diabetes?

Actually yeah, my dad has type 2 diabetes but we are trying our best to cure it.

Have I had a problem with sugar?

Yes, I had a bad addiction in my childhood, I had around 10 - 15 candy bars per day at that time (;

What do I think about sugar as the worst enemy?

As I explained before, we are humans and we need good foods to function our body properly, eating sugar is not a healthy option it's just a load of calories nothing nutritious about that, it's okay to eat a chocolate or drink coke after a while we need those things to survive well, not for survive to maintain our dopamine level in our body but I don't like when people eat sugary foods as their main meal because it causes lots of trouble.

Muy cierto lo que mencionas, el azúcar es un enemigo de la salud al 1000% pero los vicios o malas costumbres y falta de información no nos permiten ver la realidad de lo perjudicial que es para nuestra salud.
