Before discussing malaria, let's know what malaria is. Malaria is a deadly disease caused by a parasite that infects a type of mosquito known as the Anopheles mosquito.

✅How do people get Malaria, mention 5 things we can do to stop it?

Humans are usually infected with malaria by the Anopheles mosquito. In addition, people are infected with malaria in various ways. For example-

  • Malaria is caused by taking blood from an infected person.
  • If the donor becomes infected during the organ transplant, the recipient becomes infected.
  • A bed shared by a person with malaria can spread the disease.
  • If a pregnant woman is infected with malaria, the unborn child may become infected.
  • Malaria is a terrible disease and it is absolutely necessary to prevent it. There are many steps we can take for this. I am mentioning five ways among them.
  • We can use mosquito nets while sleeping at night.
  • By using insecticides on the walls or roof of the house, we can reduce the mosquito attack a lot.
  • We can prevent this disease by taking antimalarial medicine.
  • Mosquitoes usually breed more in waterlogged areas. Therefore, we can prevent malaria by removing waterlogged areas around the house.
  • We can also prevent malaria by getting the anti-malaria vaccine at an early age.

✅Give some signs of Malaria, and why is it important to find it early?

Malaria symptoms or signs appear 10-15 days after being bitten by an infected mosquito. The symptoms by which we can understand that it is malaria are: -

  • get fever
  • catch a cold
  • headache
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Nausea
  • Profound fatigue
  • By destroying red blood cells
We understand malaria by being infected
Malaria should be treated if it occurs. People affected by this disease suffer from various physical problems, suffer a lot of pain, and even die from this disease. Therefore, if the above symptoms appear, it is imperative to seek emergency treatment.

✅How does Malaria affect communities, and what can we do to fight it?

Malaria has a far-reaching impact on a community, such as: -

  • Morbidity and mortality rates increase in malaria-affected areas.
  • Chronic health problems are observed.
  • Reluctance to work due to illness reduces productivity.
  • Healthcare costs increase.
  • Negative impact on education.
  • Poverty increases in the society.
  • Quality of life decreases.
Here are some things we can do to fight against this dreaded malaria: -
  • I can always keep the house clean.
  • I try my best not to collect water in the house or around the house.
  • We can take the necessary steps to prevent mosquitoes from biting us.
  • Insecticides can be used to stop mosquito breeding.

✅Why are mosquitoes linked to Malaria, and how can we control them to stop the disease?
  • When bitten by an infected mosquito, especially a female Anopheles species, the contamination enters the blood, and the parasites then travel to the liver where they mature and reproduce. After some time they re-enter the blood and infect blood cells, resulting in malaria.
  • Controlling mosquitoes is a must to stop malaria. For this, we need to take some steps. The steps we can take are: -
  • We can use ITN. ITN is a cost-effective system that protects people from mosquito bites while they sleep.
  • IRS can be used to kill mosquitoes in the house by spraying it well around the house.
  • We can clean the places where mosquitoes breed to stop the breeding of mosquitoes.
  • Stop storing water to prevent mosquito larvae from spreading.

✅How has treating and preventing Malaria changed, and what problems are we still facing in getting rid of it?

With the change of times, the treatment of malaria has also changed. For example, in ancient times, quinine extracted from the bark of the cinchona tree was an effective treatment for malaria.

  • Chloroquine gained popularity in the mid-twentieth century.
  • By the end of the 20th century, Plasmodium falciparum was gaining ground against malaria.
  • Even though the treatment methods have improved a lot, we have not been able to eradicate malaria. And behind this failure are several of our failures. Such as: -
Due to resource constraints, we could not arrange adequate funds.
