Contest No 8: My Favourite Food by @abilove

As humans, food is a basic necessity and also a major part of our daily lifes. Upon numerous repetition of its consumption, we tend to have our favourite/s. I am someone who enjoys almost all my meals so its sometimes difficult to single out a particular meal as my favourite, but lately I have developed a strong feeling for the meal I will be sharing with you today. Without any auota of doubts, tomatoe stew is my favourite food.
Without much ado, let me kindly take you through the process I go through to prepare my food.

Most people have their ways in preparing tomato sauce but I prefer my method because, it is very unique and makes the stew very appetizing and very palatable.
Now, the procedures I go through to get my favourite tomato sauce ready is as follows;

1. Put a sauce pan on your source of heat ( i used a gas cooker).
2. Put your vegetable oil into the saucepan and wait for a minimum of 2 minutes to make the oil hot.
3. Add your diced onions and leave it to fry until translucent.
4. Add your diced green pepper (optional) and let it fry for just 2 minutes in order for its aroma to be infused in the oil.
5. Add your mackerel and allow it to cook for 3 minutes.
6. Then add your tomato puree and cook it for 3 minutes before adding the fresh tomatoes and allow both to cook for 5 minutes.
7. Add the grinded mixture of ginger, garlic, pepper, onion and rosemary.
8. Add the bay leaves to get the whole world enjoying the aroma of your stew.
9. Add a little seasoner and salt to taste.
10. Allow your stew to cook under low heat till you see oil on the surface. And voila! your stew is ready.

Now, let me tell you why this is my favourite food. Reasons why I like this food (sauce) so much is that;

• It tastes great.
• It is very nutritious.
• it is simple to prepare.
• It has the best aroma.
• And the sauce can be served with kenkey, banku, yam, plantain or rice.

I ate my tomato sauce with rice and I enjoyed it.
