Introduction
Introduced in 2019, Maruti S-Presso is a hatchback car manufactured in India by Maruti Suzuki. Maruti has already sold more than 100,000 units worldwide owing to it's affordable price.
Engine and Performance
Maruti S-Presso comes with a 1.0 Litre petrol engine that can generate 58 horsepower and both manual and automatic transmission options are available with automatic costs more than the manual transmission. The S-Presso has an impressive fuel efficiency of 20 km per litre.
Interior
The cabin is spacious and can accommodate 4 passengers comfortably. There is a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system and power windows are only available in the front. Air conditioning is not standard for all models of S-Presso and comes with high spec trims only.
Safety features
Maruti S-Presso comes with driver airbags, ABS, reverse parking sensors however lacks some needed features like reverse camera, electronic stability control. Of course you can install a reverse camera for 1000 rupees but Maruti should have included them on atleast the high end models of S-Presso. During safety testing, the S-Presso scored 2 out of 5 stars from Global NCAP for child safety and 0 out of 5 for adult safety.
Pricing
The most basic STD manual version of S-Presso starts at ₹4.17 lakhs ($ 5508) and comes with a manual gearbox. The VXi+ AGS with automatic transmission has all features S-Presso has o offer and comes at ₹5.57 lakhs ($ 7360).
Conclusion
If you're in a budget and wants a car for short daily commute, this is a great option. However if you need comfort while travelling long distance, concerned about the safety, this might not be the car for you.
