As humans, we have duties and responsibilities toward each other. We’re supposed to as much as possible help others in need and to not be shy in working with friends to achieve a common goal.

The world has become a “selfish” place where everyone is looking out for himself and those seen helping are branded as “weak” or “fools“. I would like to reiterate the culture of working together and helping others through this steemit engagement contest “what different animals teach us?”.

There are a lot of animals in the world which teach valuable lessons like team work, assistance, parenthood, patience and so much more.

Dogs are known predominantly for their loyalty and empathy. Studies have shown that dogs can feel the emotions of their owners. They can become very comforting when you’re sad and can also join you in celebrating your success.

The animal I’d like to concentrate on is the Elephant.

Elephants due to their size, are not usually considered as helpful but only as wild and troublesome. At least that’s what I used to think. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Although they can be wild, Elephants are animals with a lot to teach humans. I mean we are all wild at certain points in our lives but that doesn’t make us bad and so I don’t see why it should make Elephants appear so and dangerous.

In search of food, female herds travel together in families. Of course in every family there’s a leader so each herd is led by a leader known as a “matriarch“. This leader leads the group in search of food and shelter while the adult help the young.

While in search of food, it has been observed that Elephants corporate with each other. When there’s a hold up in accessing food, they come together and dig with sticks and also make long ropes to pull food.

Elephants moving together in search of water.

One other thing that caught my attention was how Elephants grieve. Like then we bury our dead but what they do differently is that bones of their dead that have been separated are carried to the grave when found. This is certainly something for us to emulate instead of holding large gatherings and partying when we lose our loved ones.

Elephants also work together to enhance their security. Elephants are not known to be preys and that’s because of how they work together and not selfishly.

Like I already said, Elephants move in herds. This makes it difficult for animals like lions to attack them. We can all attest to the fact that we feel safer when we’re in groups than when we are alone and this is something Elephants have been able to achieve very well.

They know they’re safer together and so do not move on their own and stick to their group. If there’s a chance that they face danger, their matriarch is the first to identify or realize it and organizes the rest of the group to safety.

What is worth emulating is that, they listen to their leader and do as they’re told instead of raising so many questions and proving stubborn.

Lessons that can be learnt from Elephants.

The summary of this is that, Elephants promote teamwork. It can be seen when they’re in search of food and shelter. It’s certainly a behavior worth emulating by humans.

Elephants are also obedient to their leaders. They listen to their matriarch without question which helps them survive longer.

I hope anyone reading my post has learnt something how Elephants teach us humans. Please leave your comments.

Elephants is one of the animal that seem to be obedient despite they size they're still humble to the core. Thank you so much for sharing your post with us. Best of luck to you.

That’s very true. We just think because for their size, they’re very violent. Thanks for the good wishes.

Thank you very much.

The elephant never thinks for tomorrow in his life. All they know is that they continue to struggle to find food and enjoy life with their flock. So there's not too much of a burden, meaning that there's just enjoying life to the fullest.

I also made a post about animals that teach humans, if you have time please see it and I am very happy.

Elephants are bosses in their forest areas. When we were young, I thought it was the strongest amongst all animals. Elephants teach as to be strong and courageous. Keep sharing with us friend. I wish you well
