Round with a shell so crisp,
Sweet and sour water inside it,
Mouthwatering water balls full,
The Golgappas is so special.

Awesome snack enjoyed by all,
Pregnant women ask for more,
Elders love and eat with glee,
Youngsters always look for a repeat.

Available all around the year,
So tasty and found everywhere,
The taste tingles the tongue,
The wonderful Indian street food.

This street food by the name of Golguppas is very special in India. You will find it in small and big carts. They are a specialty in large Indian sweet stores. They are served in coffee shops. To say the least, they are found everywhere.

The round balls are served with two types of liquid chutneys. One is green, which is made of mint and is sour and the other is red and made out of tamarind and sugar. It is sourish sweet. Some stuffings of potato and gram are optional though I do like them. Some people like green chutney and others like red, so the vendor can be asked to put more of one of the chutneys according to the taste.

Golgappas are also called Pani Puri or Puchka, according to the names given in different regions of the country.

If you haven’t tasted it and also do not live in India, tap an Indian Store. You now get packed pieces as well. You will enjoy them a lot.
